Oh he shown me the battery reading for my battery its 14.0 so he said is fine...
And yes I alway sit in the car awhile b4 I turn off the engine b4 I turn off the engine...

And yes I do turn the key to II until the ding ding ding sound goes off b4 I turn to III to crank the engine...

Oh... em... oil pump... O.O serious? Just got my car 3 says wor... only did 800 to the car... omg...

The worst part... when I accelerate after I stop at traffic lights it jerks very mildly...
*
jerk is normal!
it only happen in 1 to 2nd gear

if your car cant start and when you press the key to crank and all you hear is -----tskk tskk tskk..then your fuel pump gone.

It means your car is trying to start but no fuel going in so how to start? If battery - then just turn on your headlight see bright or weak. If its battery - u cant operate your alarm anyway smile.gif

Dont think your car is brand new meaning fresh from factory. See your shipping slip when your car landed at the port. By the time its at the port > shipping yard > you ..it can take 5-6 months sitting/rotting doing nothing at the store yard

hmm.. did you guys send the car for 1000kms service or not required to send until 10000kms ?

Again - check your shipping slip smile.gif
if your car landed in Msia in Jan 2011 and you got yours in august 2011 - thats more than 6 months.
Plus i never trust oil that is put into factory. I dont know for sure 0-10K is SDAC or international standard.

Best is to have it changed at 1K mileage for peace of mind.

Before you change - DRIVE HARD!

New focus is coming and you can book yours for a rm500 deposit at any sdac in kl.

however - the current focus is better ( if in diesel). better handling and consumption as well a simple rm3k remap can get it to 170 horses with 400nm of torque!!!!!

On the interior, the mk3 focus wins hands down lol.

since our m'sia diesel lousy quality,
don't tdci owners need to change fuel filter every 10,000km?

recommended interval is 20k by me. Ford's recommendation is 60k smile.gif

Gearbox oil change 30K recommended by me, ford is 60k.

Best you can half watever on paper for best protection

Thought of getting a Pre owned Tdci 2.0 since Euro 5 is widely available in KL. I would like some comments on the following...
1. Is the turbo diesel engine reliable?
bulletproof - riding on PSA DW10 engine platform. You can google how reliable is this engine
2. Is the powershift dual clutch a dry or wet clutch? Does it give the same problems as in the Fiesta?
No - wet clutch is far more reliable than fiesta.
3. Is the cabin well insulated from road noise and from the diesel engine noise?
Pretty good. some clatter in the morning after you warm up, its quite sedate. Not as quiet as a petrol
4. Any common  problem areas  I need to be aware when choosing a Pre owned unit?
bring a mech. usually normal wear and tear
5. Since Euro 5 is available,  does the engine need to be re-tuned to enjoy the full benefits of euro 5 diesel?
Yes - you can tune it up for more power since better and cleaner fuel
Thanks
