My engine dies frequently when put to R, sometimes it straight dies the moment the reverse gear engages, sometimes it doesn't but once i step accelerator, it dies. It happens 90% of the time on R, on D it will sometimes 'choke', and the [engine check] light appears for 2 sec then it returns back to normal and running. Can it be the gearbox or the engine? I know my gearbox has been leaking and i didn't bother to fix that because i will be changing to a new gearbox.

which manual gearbox can i use for 4g92p? prefer short ratio for acceleration.
