My I9100G screen is scrathed. Today i found multiple "bruises" on my 1 month old SGSII!

Did they changed the gorrila glass too? F***!

Anyone else notice the same thing?
*

I just purchased my samsung galaxy s2 since 1 day ago, works perfectly until this morning i can't send any message out. then i restart the phone by holding power button, when it boot up my apps can't load and the home screen just blank, now can't use for messaging, can't use for call, anyone have solution for this ? rclxub.gif is this hardware problem or software ? any one know the best solution, let me know please.
*
software problem, can enter settings? if can go do a hard reset, did u install anything yesterday? the app might cause problems. if cant enter settings, off ur phone, press power+vol up+home, hold those 3 buttons, until you enter e3 recovery, then choose wipe data.

10% per hour in standby? ROFL sgs2 1 hour standby 1% also very hard to drop ad, and they drop 10%?lemme guess, both cores are running and locked at 800mhz and performance governor? laugh.gif

anyways i hope ICS will release the full potential of the dual core but also not increase the battery drain, instead make the cores run more efficiently and save our dear juice sad.gif

Guys, my I9100G can't even last a whole day without being charged. I just have whatsapp, and viber and the occasional facebook update. and the best part is that I've already installed juice defender and limited the processor to 800. Is it normal?
*
check is your awake alot more than screen on in battery usage graph, if yes, then use better battery stats to see what causes it. Anyways chances of it lasting a whole day is slim.

hi guise..
im planing to buy
sgsII
but izzit really true

tend to
sum1 telling me b4..

1 more can we change the boring SGSII ui with custom rom?
*
http://www.techlore.com/article/10099/Do-LCD-TVs-Burn-In-/
i sense this is from sensation tered? anyways some facts

yes we do get burn outs, but i believe those using their sgs2 since april, until now half a year still none get this symptom. SGS also uses amoled so you go their forum ask got or not la, i have a friend using one since it came out here and he says none, but in the forums you'll find a few unlucky fellas getting it of course. So its a rare case.
LCD does not get burn in/out but they do get video memory problem.

the quote you quoted is very exaggerating and seriously biased, even if the blue amoled burns out the quickest, i'd take at least 2 years to notice the difference.

and the bluish tone is not that bad as it seems, most of us dont even notice it. those that get very blueish tone are actually defect units, normal screens look white, not yellow not blue, just white and its very hard to even say its blue.

colours saturated? yea i agree its saturated, but i like it, i'm using a phone, not a video/camera, why the hell do i want my launchers and icons to look 'real' they're all fakes/virtual doh.gif so i dont really get what those idiots mean by 'fake' . real case: i have a friend who bought sensation same time as me get sgs2, but he always praises my screen, why? as saturated are the colours, it attracts people, they see amoled screen pretty colours with the infinite contrast, and they cant help but wow, something the sensation and iphone can never match. when people see a phone, their first impression is always the screen, and i found many of them wow at size/colours, only mostly iphone users that try to hide it laugh.gif

get both phones and try both phones for yourself, they're all good, and each suits each other likings.

and yes we have tons of custom roms/kernal/themes, and you can bet we're getting that ICS update, just remember to get a non-G version

i copied the zip file to sdcard. clean cache and dalvik cache
and press install from zip file from sd in cwm mode
but it say installation aborted
why?? any idea??
*
what other things besides installation aborted is written in the cwm? maybe ur zip file corrupted? md5 mismatch, try open the zip file with winzip see can copy out without error not.

lemme get this straight
u enter cwm with 3 button combo, press install zip from sd, then u choose zip from sd, then u went and choose checkrom, the u press yes, correct?

p.s. How do I use better battery stats?
*
do what antt00 advised, press the processes and click partial wakelocks, let the bottom remain same, 'since charged' then post screenshot. in battery usage click the graph. you've done well to figure out this far with my simple advice smile.gif

hey guys..using voltage control on siyah 2.1rc2 ..

can advice on charging current, what u guys put in charger, misc and usb?
*
if you take the original sgs2 charger, and read, you will notice it's written 700ma which is exactly what i put for my charger current. others i din bother coz seldom use biggrin.gif just put what you want it wont affect the phone coz its like a gate, even if you set 1000ma but the charger provide only 700 max, it will still be 700

About 2 hours and 25mins.
How do I determine when the phone is in sleep mode?
*
you use that facebook app alot? dont use the chat, as you can see facebook.katana is at the top, it prevents your phone from going to sleep. its advised to use browser go fb or use ebuddy/trillian to chat in fb. another thing i noticed is you have a sudden drop in your battery graph, your phone got hot then hanged/rebooted? if so try to find out what app caused it and stop using it.

I've just tested EDGE and its way too slow. Feels like 56k.
*
for browsing better use 3g/hsdpa, if for chatting/sync/weather then edge will do, if not i suggest you change to 3g instead of hsdpa, dial this *#301279# then click change hsdpa revision, then select release r99(hsdpa off) then off ur data network, then on it back, you should see only 3G then u test the speed see, if ur using digi, the speed wont be affected as 3g is fast enough ad.

Thanks for the tip.
I did a quick test and the 3G speed is similar to HSPDA.
EDGE of course was nowhere near either of them.
But how come HSPDA's speed is similar to 3G?
I thought HSPDA was faster than 3G?

[attachmentid=2510021]
*
yes its maximum speed is higher, but if digi cant provide faster, higher also no use right? so might as well disable it for now icon_idea.gif

what if i select hsdpa only? will it drain my battery faster?
*
nope, originally there's

gprs, edge, 3g, hsdpa, hsupa(H+) , depending on signal strength and telco support or not, the connection will drop from right to left. what you're doing is disable hsupa(H+) so your phone wont have to scan for the availability of H+ anymore. i cant say it'll save battery, but it definitely wont drain battery smile.gif

hahas miui cant really help you much until someone who uses it comes out.

usual procedure
download and put inside your internal memory, flash cf-root, enter cwm, wipe data(factory reset), choose install zip from sd card, choose miui's .zip, select yes, then wait it flash.
