i already flashed CWM when i root my phone.

but when everytime i need to boot to cwm recovery, the stock recovery comes up that i need to go to download mode, to odin n flash cwm

then only i unplug usb, reboot only can go into CWM

anyone familiar with this problem?

then after i flash, i need to flash my phone KF1 original file to rid the ! in startup screen
*
Thats very weird. Never had this problem before. CWM comes with the kernel, unless you use a kernel that do not have CWM then only you will see the stock recovery. What kernel are you on now?

i just flashed siyah v2
in the phone info my kernel version shows
I9100 XWKF1
since i flashed the original WKF1 to rid the yellow !

is it mean im not on siyah 2? lol
*
Yes. After you flash back KF1 kernel you will lose CWM. No wonder. doh.gif

After flashing back to KF1 to get rid of the yellow triangle, you need to flash back siyah zimage (extract from tar or zip) using CWM app.

Edit: Next time flash kernel using CWM or apps such as HC tool / cwm app etc. No need to worry about yellow triangle.

Thanks buddy for the info (reading it as i type this). Kinda understand some of them finally but now need to search for the comparison between these 3 interesting governors. according to most, still smartassv2 is great. wonder how it performs among these 3:

smartassv2

ondemandx

lulzactive
btw, im on siyah 2.1 rc3 using smartassv2. Using ondemandx for a day and lulzactive for a day on previous version and still feel smartassv2 is greater among them three smile.gif
*
smartassv2 is too laggy for my adw launcher. lulzactive is laggy for some normal game. I am still on ondemandx the smoothest for me.

smartassV2 ramps slower and uses all cpu freq. No special sleep freq but ramps even slower in sleep

ondemandx screen on all cpu freq. screen off 100 - 500.

lulzactive screen on al cpu freq. screen off stick to min freq only meaning 100 - 100 or 200 - 200.

Also lulzactive seem to spread cpu on all clock from 500 to 1200 freq while ondemandx stick more to 500 - 800

many have mentioned the issue of sleeping at 500Mhz and the phone reboots cause some apps do take more than 500Mhz while the phone is idle/screen off...

However, i'm hard pressed to find any such app that takes the full CPU speed when the phone is in such a state. Probably also multiple applications could be running/syncing/updating which then MIGHT be the cause of the need for such CPU power.

However, I think even the default ondemand profile gives pretty decent battery life/performance already. I actually don't see much difference running smartassv2 and ondemand... after running maybe another week and if there isn't any difference, might switch back to ondemand

RC3 have not given me any SOD or reboot yet. People should try not to UV or reduce the UV as 500 is still experimental.

500 is still very much experimental it seems. IMHO, with bluetooth bug fixed RC2 is still the best RC to be pushed to stable, even with UV it's rock solid stable.

My UVs are VERY minimal anyhows, just to push heat down a notch.

And DarkAngel/Uncle Benny, thanks for the info.

I already know the general governers (Interactive, Powersave, Conservative, Ondemand) from my N900/810 days, but Brazilanwax, Smartassv2 I guess is a tad new for me.
*
Agree that RC2 is very stable. Only problem was the bluetooth. It can very well be a final version with the bluetooth fix. Great batt life also with RC2.

Speaking of 500MHz, I did try using ondemand and going for own set up profiles with screen off running at 200-500. No reboots. I have most of the time data on and probably a few internet and social networking apps on... so.. wonder why it should reboot for others...

But I still also don't think we should set it as low as 500MHz though... 800 seems fair enough
*
500 mhz is normal for sleep profile. Its different from the new 500 mhz change in siyah kernel is the freq the device ramp to just before going to sleep, it use to be 800 mhz. It seems to need more voltage as it was meant to run at 800 mhz thus when gokhan change it to 500mhz and UV is too much, the device will hang at that freq and we will have SOD.

Final Siyah 2.1 will revert back the 500 mhz freq so we will have our stability back. biggrin.gif

That being said, my own proc ALREADY has issues at 500mhz, it never could be UVed much. All the other steps were fine (they could do -100mv no problem), but my 500mhz was (and still is) extra sensitive.

Maybe turning it into deep sleep freq just made things worse.
*
Yeah some people UV alot. I just UV -50mV across all clock. If I UV -100 i will start to get issues. Each cpu can be so different.

now i flash cwm, i don flash kf1 kernel (so got yellow exclaimation mark).

i already extract siyah zimage from pc and move that file to sdcard.

then i load cwm recovery, i cant find that siyah zimage

did i do sthg wrong, anyone got experience can guide?
*
Not through recovery. Use CWM app here to flash the zimage. Install the apk as normal, start the app and select flash kernel. The app can also flash .tar file kernel. So first flash your kf1 zimage (or .tar) to get rid of the yellow triangle then reflash siyah zimage to get back your cwm without yellow triangle.

Do you guys experience lag when playing Fruit Ninja? I notice the graphic is a lot higher than Fruit Ninja, but I think our phone should be able to support it nevertheless.

Stock / Siyah kernal =same result
Chainfire3D or stock = same result

Anyone can play it smoothly? Non-G btw..
*
No lag here on fruit ninja also.

how do you guys switch off the noise reduction option during call? i hate to do it while during call. can we disable it permanently?
*
The phone.apk need to be modified. Checkrom have a modified version in their kitchen. Or you can request from whatever rom your using.

Is it supposed to auto offscreen the moment a call is connected

No, only when you cover the proximity sensor.

Sorry what I meant was when da phone is against my ear. Lol. Mine won't auto off. Lol bug detected after backing up nandroid
*
Yeah suppose to auto off when your ear covers the proximity sensor. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache.

If cannot then wipe data, cache and dalvik cache and restore nandroid again.

Edit: forgot this one. Check in settings > phone whether the "turn on proximity sensor" is ticked.

Yes flash a new rom. Solution to all bugs. LOL thumbup.gif

Edit: Actually if you got UV problem, just flash speedmod kernel in CWM. Kernel does not support UV so any script or setting you make to UV will be useless and device will start normal.

Are you on siyah 2.1 RC3? It is unstable.

hi juz wan to ask very noob question here
can i flash european official rom wif original asian ver???
will it void the warranty? laugh.gif

If your SGS2 is i9100 and NOT i9100G then you can flash any other version of i9100 rom. Yes technically it will void warranty. Will samsung care, from people's experience, it seems no.
