did anyone know TF201 is avaible for 64 gb on 2nd batch in malaysia?
plzz i need to know before i buy 32gb..
or any opinion if i get 32gb or 64 gb?
*
I think 32GB should be enough. ATP has 2 expansion slot(1 MicroSD slot for the tablet, 1 SD slot for the dock). Theoretically, the max storage for 32GB model is 32 (internal) + 32 (microSD) + 64 (SD) = 128GB. That is alot of space.

However keep in mind that the microSD sticks out a bit and you may lose it if you are not careful. I got myself a 16GB microSD class 10 (got it cheap during the PC fair) and I tend to check the card is still inside the ATP frequently.

any good solutions to fix the micro sd sticking out issue?
*
Well, I read from xda that got people try to put a duct tape to cover, sand the microSD card( I would not recommend this as the plastic protection is very thin, you might damage the internal chip).

As for me, I don't bring this tablet out that much and I am using a netbook cover so I don't think the card can be lost easily.

Will it be as good and as responsive as on a normal lappy?
*
Hmm. I tried once and it is ok to me. Just that you wont get full function mouse like the windows counterpart ( if i remember correctly). I still prefer to use the touch screen to navigate though.

just got my update too a minute ago. So far any issues spotted yet? Saw some not so good news in other forums but it's not faced by everyone though. Thought I'd take the chance anyway.

So far so good. Still in observation mode.

I think the other forum people likes to exaggerate abit.

Hmmmm.....my prime doesnt like this update very much. I encounter so many freeze and reboots.

Keep rebooting after few minutes of usage.

Guess when I get back from work, I will do a factory reset on it. Cold reboot doesn't solve the issue.

Worst case, I will do a rollback on it. Sending for exchange might be tough considering the severe shortage of stock here.

do tell us your situation bro. For me I have to try and get it working. Few minutes reboot is no fun. Did anyone here did a rollback update before?

Mine one so far so good, no big issue ... (touch wood), only concern is the CPU constantly running at 102MHz while idle.

currently downgrading. Hoping that I wont encounter any problem.

Because of this, I rooted my prime for the first time lol.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huhu. Managed to downgrade to .11 again. I will stick to this until a new stable firmware is up.

Tested whole night yesterday and with .11 build, I don't get any freeze/reboots anymore.

Thinking that should I try my luck to update to .14 again?

But from what I understand it voids warranty??? And cannot be undone? Then what's the point of doing this?

Sorry for continuous questions tongue.gif

I'm waiting for the .15 beta to complete and get released so that I can update OTA and test it again.

At least I know that there is a way to downgrade to .11 if anything happens. Better backup my precious .11 firmware before Asus takes it off the support site.

Lol. I was shocked when I updated.

Asus didn't include all in one OTA as I have to updated from .11 -> .14(super shock) -> .15 (relieved)

Now back on observation mode.

Sent from my PRIME

Judging from your experiences, Quad Core improve a lot over TF101 then?
*
One of the main reason the TFP can play mkv video files smoothly is because Tegra 3 have hardware acceleration that supports Hi-profile H.264 playback(commonly found in .mkv files) . Of course the limitation (for me) is I can't play 10-bits video file smoothly(I watch anime on this machine) using software decode mode.

what player u using ??
*
I am using multiple video player.

This is what I use:

1. Dice Player (Most frequent)
2. MX Player (Can choose to have H/W acceleration or S/W decode, Volume+ seems to work best with this player (if Audio S/W is enabled))
3. BS Player (If all else fails)

I used these players because they have subtitle support. 10-bit video is a hit or miss. Sometimes ok and sometimes not.

For me, if the new iPad cannot support h264 videos through H/W acceleration , it is still as useless as ever. The reason I opt for ATP is because my iPhone 4 could not play my .mkv video smoothly.

Lol. Clearly an iHater. But I kind of agree that the resolution of the iPad seems pointless without the support of the 3rd party media like 1080p movies. And it will be another useless feature if the new iPad could not play 1080p movies smoothly. Also, with the memory space limitation on the iPad, a 16GB iPad can store like a few movies before it ran out of space entirely....
