 Need Advice from Bike Gurus: my 1st Bike

regarding choke, maybe i go to another shop and see...
i need to develop good riding confidence
i realize that unlike cars, the mb rear mirrors difficult to use, if the road inclines/declines/turning time - impossible to see behind. the lack of mirror visibility that i've taken for granted in cars is worrying, i need to learn looking behind.
Otherwise i'm getting to know the motor's character better. If i drop down from high gear to fast, the motor stops-i've learnt to hold clutch and ram the throttle to keep engine firing.
what happens if i leave choke max all the time? - so far only spark plug problem...

well thank god the sifus did not dismiss this as troll whatever - i don't have biker friends...
regarding my bro - if he can even sit on a stationary bike without falling i'd be surprised..he is NATO (no action talk only)
whatever friends - all have kapchai experience only - they see the superkips - and they gulp.
But kips is quite comfortable to sit on for me - have to sort out the mirror - maybe i should invent an auto tilt mirror that adjusts when ur surrounding terrain changes... hmm.gif Attached Image Attached Image
Regarding choke - once i'm better with riding i'll go to the big 3 storey shop near the hulu langat driving school...hopefully they sort it out.
If still cannot settle i'll go to welly batu caves.

I'm thinking of starting a helmet thread - my 1st one got no visor. I added one and it feels to dark.
Is it ok to get visor with no tint - i think unlike cars no issue of interior overheating rite?
i find most motorcyclist use flip visor, no fullface - is there any drawback with fullface helmet.
since i've started riding on streets - need to get a proper helmet - maybe i'll get SOL fullface with no tint...
My helmet story u all know - bought 'arai' <rm100 with no visor - no forethought blink.gif

went out to ride about 2.30 am just now
Having much better control of clutch now-playing with it is like playing musical instrument.
Issues this mornin:
1. The choke issue. Started as usual with max choke. Somewhere during ride i stopped the bike, the slightly burnt smell again - i wuz worried the spark plug dyin again due to always using max choke. So i rode home straight away - buuut....... brows.gif once i arrive home, i tried to idle for a while, then turned choke off - VICTORY rclxm9.gif -the motor idle without stopping, and the motor sound is better - like more refined compared to the rough previous sound. I noticed that the odometer showed 1049km - so maybe the engine and choke just run in - i hope so anyway.

2. Although choke issue resolving, my Mirrors are still a worry despite me adjusting their position - when i rode in main rode just now - could not see car right behind me...I'm so used to my car's biiig side mirrors, also the presence of rearview mirror in carr reallly helps. Like bro aman83 suggested, i need to get big aftermarket mirrors. Just now when i was turning luckily i signalled, and glanced at side mirror like a do with my car, managed to notice a motorcyclist with no light just behind me - any slower and he might have hit me - i was dressed up like christmas tree and this guy is riding in stealth mode.

3. Bike license - the instructors have made up their mind that i have to take <250cc license and ride at least few months on roads before considering superbike license. I think i'll take their advice although i paid more money for superbike license... rclxub.gif

Now for some graveyard story - i passed an s shaped road in the graveyard area just now - as i was taking the turn, a black dog woke up from sleep in the middle of the road. I avoided it, but man i was more scared of the bike stalling with the dog attacking me than meeting any ghost. sweat.gif

Good news...
1. started 7 am today - bike stopped idling once choke stopped - but i admit now i know i must be patient for few minutes to warm engine. However what if i have to go somewhere fast? So i maxed the choke - saying i will reduce it later. Of course i forgot and remembered only when i came back home. So 2 issues:
a. i keep forgetting to switch on the red on/off button after i turn ignition key - maybe better to leave the red button on always.
b. forget to reduce choke after riding on max choke for a while - no solution for this.

2. Otherwise engine behaving so well - even when i'm dropping down gear at high speed engine didn't die. Had no problem at all in traffic lights tongue.gif
3. now got NEW ISSUE: when riding high speed and you approach a slight curve in the road, i find the bike not bending as i want it and going in a straight line (not following the white lines on road) - one such road i found myself like that - my bike moving straight, has drifted from one white line to the next lean during the corner (ie not following the road/corner line) - there were no cars behind me but not following corner line is dangerous i think. I usually slow for heavy corners, but moderate s shaped road you don't want to slow down, you just want to follow the curve an enjoy the ride...have to figure this out.

I have had some thoughts on best cc bike to start out , and also a solution i found for being unable to see well with my side mirrors - i feel like a 'little' guru now -having got some hands on knowledge during riding - i'll post them after my breakfast...thinking between mee kari/ roti sardin - can't get good spicy food nowadays - even chili padi is like meh - maybe coz they dump the thing in cuka or soya sauce... drool.gif
