Hi just wana check if buy 2nd hand car with cash from dealer;
1. Booking fee (Day 1) 2. Dealer do Puspakom 3. After Dealer inform Puspakom complete, bring cash to Dealer shop, Thumbprint, and take car away (Day 2) - With road tax and insurance still valid 4. New insurance, road tax, New Geran can be collected any day after.
Is the above valid? Thanks

QUOTE(Chrix @ Mar 12 2022, 07:28 PM) #3 not necessary the case, the car may have its roadtax expired or cancelled, insurance follow person, not car. Thus you will need to have your own. also depending on cash amount, but its safer to have a bankers cheque/bank draft instead of hard cash, anything can happen. If using bankers cheque, Dealer state 3 days floating time only can get the car. If have valid roadtax and insurance, the process is as simple as it is?

Facing a situation here, im buying a used car from a private seller,
1. After PUSPAKOM completed, seller insists on full payment before going to JPJ thumbprint. 2. Seller says after puspakom completed and 100% payment done, If I wan I can take the car first without waiting for JPJ thumbprint. 3. Seller already drafted a SPA agreement signed by me and the seller regarding the sale of the car.
Is this above valid case in court? Afraid once seller take the money and i take the car, seller refuse to do Ownership transfer at JPJ. Help advice thanks.

QUOTE(ycs @ Apr 3 2022, 03:44 PM) dont; both must be done simultaneously ; meet at JPJ, make payment then transfer ownership Any implication if I take the car first and paid him the money? And do jpj thumprint only a few days after. Is he able to report that I stole his car even with the agreement in place?

QUOTE(Chrix @ Apr 3 2022, 04:32 PM) Easy, buyer prepare bank draft/bankers cheque. It is guaranteed payment as u have to pay the bank the full amount on cheque first. So at counter when thumbprint, hand over cheque. Easy. So normally only pass the Cheque to seller at the JPJ befor thumbprint? Any risk if transaction is performed prior?
