Scenario: This year I manage to spend only up to RM8-9k.

Is it possible to ask for GST waived? Anyone tried this b4?

SCB - called them to terminate the card before service tax was charged and they offered me RM100 thumbup.gif

wow.....never knows that SCB so desperate. For the past decade, SCB and HSBC are consider the most stingy and "hang price" bank.

I wonder if you did only 3 transaction for the whole year for the sake of get the GST waived, are they going to waived your annual fee as well? hmm.gif

SCB is quite desperate to retain their customer and get new customers as well. RM 138 for gold and RM 228 for plat guaranteed cashback when you apply their CC online.

hmm.gif doesn't seem like what you said. Before I got my OCBC Ti and MB2K Plati, I did apply for the SCB platinum. It get rejected at the 2nd level of approval sleep.gif

Based on my experience, when near to 1-year anniversary date:

HSBC, HLB, MBB, PBB: Will not waive the GST even after called to ask for cancellation  vmad.gif

SCB, Citibank: High % they will apply retention & waive the RM50 if they think you are "loyal" customer to them  blush.gif

Unknown for me: UOB, RHB

so mean if you want go for cancellation of ur CC right after the GST charged, you still need to pay for GST b4 you can terminate the service?

How about OCBC Titanium? They can waive the RM50 GST with the condition if we spent RM10,000 per year! Wondering if we can't meet the condition, can they waive it with just a call like Citibank?

I am interested to know this too hmm.gif

Hi,
I got the information below from the promoters when I went to the shopping mall yesterday;

1). New MBF credit card (Platinum and Gold card) will have RM 50 government service tax being  subsidy by the bank every year.

2) New Hong Leong Bank credit card(Classic/Gold/Fortune/Essential/Platinum/Signature/..) (promotion campaign period 24/10 to 30/11/2011), will also have GST subsidies by the bank every year (offset with guaranteed RM 50 rebate), subject to minimum one retail transaction per year.

Anyone can confirm these?

I did heard about the same thing on MBF CC from the promoter but I not sure there are any hidden condition or not
