I searched through the forum and did not get any results that there is a thread to list down which card issuers allow to waive with very minimum condition.

I started it so anyone can use it for reference.

Standard Chartered
3X transactions with any amount. Will be granted 11,000 points for you to offset.

Maybank
Nothing other than use your own TP 10,000 to offset.

OCBC Titanium
OCBC sometime offer GST offset if you spend more than 20k in a year. There is no rule they must offset for u. [Credit to sms2u]

UOB
Managed to get waiver when I called them to cancel the card. They can waive for you if you swipe 2X of transactions within certain days with no minimum amount.

RHB
I cancel my RHB card last two week and the reason is because of GST
Got call today that they will waived it and will send me a new card..

HSBC, HLB, PBB
Will not waive the GST even after called to ask for cancellation [credit to silverarrows for his information given]

AMBank
No waiver upon request. But if request for cancellation, they will waive you [Updated Dec 29, 2014]

Anyone else?

Citibank - I called them to waive the service tax and they refused, told me cr@p eg. use your points to redeem blah blah...so I terminated it (I don't think I used it regularly thus they were not keen to waive it - I heard they did waive it before)

Based on my experience, when near to 1-year anniversary date:

HSBC, HLB, MBB, PBB: Will not waive the GST even after called to ask for cancellation  vmad.gif

SCB, Citibank: High % they will apply retention & waive the RM50 if they think you are "loyal" customer to them  blush.gif

Unknown for me: UOB, RHB

You should mention the annual fee also

Mostly all banks will waive the annual fee one. Correct me I was wrong.

HSBC?

Anyway, I've been wanting to cancel my HSBC. Not much benefits and unable to waive GST.

SCB is the best. Call to cancel because refuse to pay GST, they offer RM100!
