I got the quotation as below.
1) Piping from Main pipe to Tangki and Kitchen : RM1,700 (Poly pipe) 2) Installation of toiletries : RM500 for 2 toilets After discount total is RM2,000. I didn't change the Tangki. Other piping for toilet and kitchen will be done by my main contractor. |

My plumber told me there is new pipe which is more reliable and expensive...it's call PP-R Pipe...not sure what is the full name anyone got any idea ? most pipe are reliable if you get the correct grade , the unreliable part is the joint.. either by glue/cementing/compression.. all has it weakness .. the best one i know is butt fusion but nobody uses it for home more for commercial/industrial use update : As for Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PP-R), is one of the latest pipes which are well proven material in domestic pressure piping systems for hot and cold water due to its high internal pressure resistance and long lifetime at elevated temperature. mostly used in hot water.. refer here : http://www.resintechmalaysia.com/pp_pp-r_pipe_fittings.html This post has been edited by JinXXX: Feb 29 2012, 10:26 PM |

The rest of the house is using PVC and UPVC.. PVC Class 6...UPVC i have yet to confirm with him the Class...I hope its good... |

video of ppr piping fusion joint
another video PPR is good but, for diy/self repair not feasible cause you need the machine, that melt the piping to the fitting to be joined plumbers will charge alot to recoup back the cost of the machine This post has been edited by JinXXX: Mar 1 2012, 09:59 AM |

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Mar 1 2012, 09:52 AM) video of ppr piping fusion joint i think this new pipe is also cannot stand acidic since its easy to melt due to temperature..same as ABS. ABS is melted when we put the ABS glue before we glue it, it you notice.another video PPR is good but, for diy/self repair not feasible cause you need the machine, that melt the piping to the fitting to be joined plumbers will charge alot to recoup back the cost of the machine |
