The thing is about Uniten is that they do not change the room locks or main door locks.
So there's a high chance the previous tenant had a duplicate.
I know this sounds shitty, but it's true.
2 years back when I was in Amanah, my friend's apartment got broken into the same way.

The should at least:
1. Replace the locks every semester.
2. Circle the locks around, meaning same locks, but on different random units.
3. Use Key-Card access, where key cards are not easy to duplicate.

I've said this before and I'm gonna say this again, Uniten's management is money minded, they don't care about their students welfare.

And MPP is the biggest shit of all, they're supposed to be the voice of the students but fcuk no. All they do is convey messages from the management to us, that's all they do.

Bro, please update us when you have consulted your lawyer.

I don't like the way the management treats us, like bloody second class citizens.

They bring in 1k+ students every new semester and chase us out because there's not enough place to live in.

COE foodcourt's a mess with so many students and no place to sit.
COE buildings are frigging warm all the time, whereas COIT is too flipping cold.
Electricity/Rental is overcharged.
Security is shit.

So what to do? Most people would just get te hell out on first chance. Expensive rent + shitty internet + shitty management = hell no. Not that I stayed out though. Stayed in for the rest of my 4 years  sweat.gif

I know that my ideas seem far fetched, but to be honest, Uniten seems to be making money.
Just look at the number of students they bring in every semester, the hike in rent and electricity charges now.
Not only that, they also fine you for parking illegally doh.gif

Not far-fetched, IT IS what they're doing. UNITEN generates MONEY as a lot of people calls it. Although that in itself is pretty stupid in a way cuz it is a business. They're not exactly charity to do it without anything in return. I don't mind the price IF the service matches. They don't. Shitty all around.
This one I 100% support UNITEN. Those bstrd who can't even park properly can go to hell for all I care.

One of my lecturer told me that Uniten recorded some losses last year, i lol-ed when she told me that.
Seriously, they are making money!

About those parking illegally, I blame Uniten for having too many students, but less parking lots. Yes, you can always opt to park far away at a designated parking lot and walk to class though.

I don't blame UNITEN for having too many students. I blame them for not thinking it thoroughly. Yes, not much parking for CoE (abundance for CoIT) coz CoE has been around since the beginning of UNITEN Bangi. Nothing much they can do about that. Which idiot would consider enrolling students based on parking space? That's just plain moronic. But by not taking count of them for example better bus service (why te hell they always drive 5km/h?), problem will occur. The have added a few more lots, but they're more of a half-assed solution rather a proper one. Just to show they are listening. Yeah right.
*
You know, if the transportation system within was good enough, I'm guessing most students living in would opt to park their cars at the kelompoks and take the bus to class.
But the thing is, sometimes you have to be 30 minutes earlier to join the crowd, to queue up before the bus arrives.
Sometimes just 5 minutes would be the deciding factor whether or not you miss the bus.

Yes, I do agree with you. Like i've said before, they behave as if they do not care about the welfare of their current students.
Not to mention that the elevators in Cendikiawan break down very often, I myself got stuck in it, TWICE! doh.gif

The stairwell is dark, unlit and filled with filth.

Imagine staying right on top and when you're late for class, the lift decides to mess around with you? haha

Lu apa tau MPP buat kerja ke tak? Anyway, Please dont make blatant accusation.

Regarding this matter, UNITEN do provide proper way of complaining. 1st, lodge a report at polis bantuan UNITEN. Then only would you go to Polis. Amanah had installed CCTV, Front and back main gate had CCTV. With proper planning [by seeing those CCTV], you might get list of people going in and out of UNITEN, especially Amanah. Last but not least, I-Recommend.

I stayed at Amanah before, and never got stolen. This is mainly because I go to UNITEN mainly to study. So, only 1 HDD inside. =D.

From my point of view, this is planned. Those thief knew you, he know you sell stuff, and he once [atleast] been to your room. He just wait for suitable time to act.

Start investigating your close friend and those who nearby. Muka sama putih/hitam, tapi hati sapa tau?

No offence, I may not know what MPP has done for us.
Kindly let me know what they have done for the welfare of us, students, and I'll retract my statement smile.gif

Wanna know something... All of you, Uniten students who are studing at the named hostels should stick together. Make a formal complaint and demand the management to improve on security stuff because they don't feel safe staying there.

About 8 years back, a renowned Singapore Polytechnic got all the hostels corridor installed with CCTVs after one particular student got her room cleaned up by thief. She compiled a formal complaint letter and collected over a hundred signature of the fellow occupying students. And you know what, security cameras were installed about one month after they handed over their complaints. Thief rate was significantly reduced.

One individual person made noise...They can hardly feel the pinch
When, 100 persons complained... It's hard to ignore the fact that people are not happy.
*
We had a dialogue session with the management and some high ranked officers 1-2 semesters back.
NOTHING happened.
It was a 2 hour long session, we told them all our problems and concerns, but nothing happened.

The thing is, even if we stick together and write a complain/ petition, all the management would probably is,"You tak suka, you keluar!"

That's because accommodation in Uniten is hard to get, if you don't take it, there's plenty of other students on the accommodation waiting list. The demand is always there.
