Hi,
Thought I'd share with you my impressions on the phone. It's very thin and light. But wide. I can't use it one handed. The build is solid (love the Kevlar) but the power and volume rocker is a bit fiddly (I would prefer it to be firmer). I think I got the display unit from IMCC as it has already been switched on (no accounts setup, etc.) , so I did a software reset when I got home. No biggie, but the salesperson said it was new. UI is snappy, but not as smooth as the iphone (not that it needs to be, but I know some people are sticklers about that type of thing. Maybe in ICS). The android buttons light up most of the time but sometimes they don't, maybe it has something to do with the surrounding brightness. If you're wondering, to me, the screen is lovely. There are mentions in some revies about the phone heating up. I used it for 3-4 hours straight last night and didn't encounter any overheating. Call quality and reception is great. I've used the HTC Desire, Samsung Ace, iphone 4 and now the RAZR. In summery, It's a great phone. I love it. But, the best? Maybe not, but what's "best" anyway. I was looking for one today, but couldn't really find anything. |

Anybody else annoyed by the RAZR's android buttons not lighting up in bright conditions?
Is there a way to make it light up every time the phone is in use? |

QUOTE(panafone @ Nov 16 2011, 11:53 AM) Anybody else annoyed by the RAZR's android buttons not lighting up in bright conditions? In case anybody is facing the same problem, I've 'fixed' mine by covering the sensor with my finger when I'm using the phone. Is there a way to make it light up every time the phone is in use? It's actually the light sensor (nearest to the notification light). Bright = capacitive buttons are dim. Dark = capacitive buttons light up. I know it's not really a solution, but it works. Hopefully it will be fixed with a future update. Other than that, loving this phone. |

Couldn't sleep, so decided to find a solution to the annoying capacitive buttons not lighting up sometimes.
Ended up rooting the phone (very easy to do) and installing Keyboard Backlight Controller app. Now they're set to light up every time the screen is on. Nice. This post has been edited by panafone: Nov 19 2011, 05:13 AM |

Anybody else think the back lighting for the capacitive buttons annoying?
I thought I solved it by installing Keyboard Backlight Controller (need root) but sometimes it still won't light up or it won't shut down. Anybody have a solution for this? It's driving me nuts. |

QUOTE(lolipop0520 @ Dec 2 2011, 02:56 PM) i don't think we need pouch or screen protector or anything, its already kevlar and gorilla glass...... it is slim, no need to add another layer....--lol-- Over time, even gorilla glass will get scratches (even if it's just micro scratches). Plus, it's scratch resistant, not shatter resistant. So an extra layer won't hurt. But I do agree, a pouch or case will take away from its svelte design. I use Steinheil SP Ultra Crystal myself. It's crystal clear but smudges like nobody's business. This post has been edited by panafone: Dec 2 2011, 08:41 PM |

QUOTE(mypagan_26 @ Mar 11 2012, 05:08 PM) New Razr user checking in here! hehehehe got the phone and before could figure much out, updated to 2.3.6... I think we did get bejewelled 2 (game) in the update coz I don't remember seeing it in the app drawer when I was looking through it while waiting for the OTA update to download.... Yes, it does get a bit warm. But I've been using it since Nov '11 and it's still good. Best phone I ever had.BTW guys, is it normal for the Razr to get a little warm when playing games etc? Noticed that when I fired up Bejewelled to check it out, played for about half-hour and the back of the phone was pretty warm! Not too hot, but still noticeable! Cheers! |
