1) Will Stainless Steel Tank rust if i put it above the ceiling, under the roof?
Yes normal 304 stainless steel tank will rust, unless u get a 316 grade like King Kong Farmosa Series.

2) When you purchase a 300gal tank, does the tank really stores 300gal of water?
No, the max capacity of the tank is 300gal but it will b less than that due to overflow hole and infill valve location. Some water tanks like Deluxe can store minimum 5% extra. Why? i will show u soon....

whats the price difference between a 304 300gal tank and a 316 300 gal tank ?

other than aesthetic and dimension/sizing difference reasons, why ppl get ss tanks ?

Bro zheilwane,
It is kind of you to put this up to inform potential house owners. At least they can make an informed decision. rclxms.gif

For the uninformed, house owners change to the stainless steel tanks with the impression that it will not rust. Those shops selling them also don't tell them. What a pity....

curious question, will it rust.. faster or slower.. when place in the attic in the roof on top the ceiling or placed outdoors ?

cause the roof space/attic is quite humid when compared to placing the tank outside directly..

I just installed KING KONG stainless steel water tanks...I am not sure is 304 or 316...

How I know which type? got label on the surface?

If 304, how long does it take to rust? I put on top of concrete roof without covering....

well if your kingkong label is dark blue then its 304

king kong's 316 is call farmosa or something like that...and the label is yellow in colour

well it does come with 10 years warranty so guess it takes min 10 years to start rusting smile.gif

Yup, Farmosa is yellow label while the normal king kong is blue. The price of Farmosa is almost double of the normal king kong water tank.

When they say 10 years warranty, it comes with some terms & conditions.

Here is why some water tanks like deluxe can store more water.

funny thing is my kingkong tank ball float comes with a "L" aka elbow..
this making it like the deluxe one but instate the inlet is from the top rather than deluxe which is the side...

King Kong's support frame is stronger as it has extra I-Frame leg.
