Already got other cards but hmmm, RM50 return is not bad at all, about 14.3% for spending RM350 and 10% for spending RM500. LoL, thanks for making me run the numbers again. And another RM50 reward to offset GST.

For 1 mth fd, nowadays I put in Maybank eFD as easy to deposit plus instant upliftment (online only). Interest doesnt really make much of a difference. In fact my savings account just enough for 1 month expenses.. he..he I am Uncle Scrooge reborn.. tongue.gif

Hi, is there any charges for using this Maybank eFD facility?

Just to be sure, one question on CIMB e-FD:

QUOTE
All fixed deposits not withdrawn upon maturity shall be automatically renewed for the same tenor with the
interest rate that is prevailing at the time of renewal.

Lets say, I have placed a 1 month e-FD and let it automatically renew. If i withdraw after 3 months, will i get the interest for 1 month or 3 months? Thanks.

Ya. I know best is 5k per month. But don't have that earning power yet. That's why I ask 2 months and above.

eFD? Can transfer your money to FD using M2U?

Added on June 26, 2012, 6:07 pm

What is eFD? Can transfer money to FD using m2u?

Bank rakyat? Don't have account there.
*
eFD - can open FD direct from M2U.

Dont need CASA to open FD with Bank Rakyat.

Just add some FD under the UOB promo ending this month, under senior citizen rate, 3.60% 12 months. UOB dont give free gift?

Also, one question on PIDM protection:

Person A already exceeded the RM250k amount with Bank X.
Person A opens a new joint FD with person B for RM100k.
Person B has not exceeded the RM250k mark.
Is the RM100k protected by PIDM?

Thanks

if you want to deposit RM1000 to RM4999 only, need to deposit for at least 2 months.
for 1 month tenure, need to deposit at least RM5000.

thanks again from MMU thread to this thread xD
if i add RM1000 then count 60day i only can take out , how if i deposit more money ?
*
The FD cert will show when is the exact mature day.
If you deposit RM5000 or more, you can choose 1 month tenure or more.

Bear in mind, this is for Maybank and CIMB eFD.

Great explanation!

I would like to know more about FD other than their benefits. Let say cons of FD also.
Not possible for me to cancel the FDeposit plan once it started?
For ex: I FDed 5k on certain bank for 3 months tenure, I got accident on 2nd month and I need money...

You can withdraw but will not be paid any interest.
