QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Oct 18 2011, 11:15 AM) Honestly, there isn't much change in those terms for Forza. I remember playing GT1 and GT2, the driving need significant changes to adapt to the new simulator, the same happened when I played GT4 after spending hundreds of hours on GT3, can't simply drive the same despite using the same car on the same track. Of course this would be great since every new GT you would have to relearn the driving part, but it also loses its credentials claiming to be the real simulator. While I have been driving the same on all 4 Forzas, boring? May be. But is GT a good series? Can't see why it isn't, but close to reality? I have my own doubts on this. Anyway it's still a game, Forza or GT is for entertainment, and just pick the one that entertains you most. well if every video game is perfect on their first iteration, then we wouldnt need Forza1,2,3 or GT1,2,3. You see, technology evolve over time. New discoveries are made.I dont think PS1 in those days have the computing power to simulate all aspects of the car and the tracks. With the advancement of gaming hardware, they can put in more parameter in the game. |

thats marketing. If you believe all the tag line associated with a product, then Proton is the greatest car marquee on the world.

QUOTE(LaskarCinta @ Oct 18 2011, 12:10 PM) Yeah, physics, physics, physics. Looks like GT team got lots of physicist inside, creating new theories with each iteration of GT. Nobel prize for them. From wiki of Forza 2 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forza_Motorsport_2 QUOTE The damage and physics in the game have been revamped over the previous game, allowing for multiple settings: "simulation," which is the most severe, allowing for damage that can take a car out of commission; "limited," which scales down the severity of impact of crashes; and "cosmetic," where the damage is merely visual.[4] The damage ratings for each part of the vehicle can be seen on the HUD (heads up display) accessed from the in-game menu. |

QUOTE(LaskarCinta @ Oct 18 2011, 12:25 PM) Play the game first, then talk. Please see my GT and its 'evoHahn'. Then came back to me.Revamped, yes. But it doesnt feel like playing on an another planet (like GT). Plus, it's all these "realism" thing that lots of GT fanboys rave about, even to the extent of saying everything else is just arcade. Not Forza camp. |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Oct 18 2011, 12:25 PM) That's I mentioned tweaking for each iteration is acceptable. Now, if you put your hatred towards Forza/love towards GT aside for a while, how would you judge GT5's damage & physics based on what you just posted? Did i said i hate Forza? please find my post that said that. I'm not bragging but here is the fact : I played GT series, Enthusia Motorsports (by Konami, the hardcore racing game on console), Forza1 & Forza2 (tested Forza3), F12010 on Steam and PS3, iRacing,rFactor, netKar,LFS, both Shift titles, Test Drive LeMans (best racing game on DC) etc etc etc. yes I'm a big fan of racing game. GT5 has the 1337 , POWDERFUL physics engine? nope. and neither is Forza. why? unless it has the computing power just like the F1 simulator currently employed by F1 teams, console hardware can never match them. So the developer of a racing game title has to make the physics model simplistic so that the hardware can cope. Added on October 18, 2011, 12:41 pm QUOTE(LaskarCinta @ Oct 18 2011, 12:28 PM) please read my reply to gundamalpha's post. This post has been edited by evoHahn: Oct 18 2011, 12:41 PM |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Oct 18 2011, 01:19 PM) That gets back to the first reply you quoted mine, I was making that statement because someone said GT is real and Forza is arcade. Both have limitations, both are just games. But to claim one is reality and the other is arcade got me. i know that. thats why my reply also end with |

QUOTE(snipersnake @ Oct 18 2011, 03:23 PM) this man speaks the truth. i like personally for me, I love both series. They have their own different pedigree. But what sickens me are people who havent even try each game and typing manure here. I bought the original xbox because of forza. I know even evohanh did. We love cars. We love to race. And we dont care which is which, as long as we enjoy the game. In the end, we have lives to live. This gaming scene, is so small in this country. And we still, want to divide ourselves according to our console preference? So your 360 RODed on you, buy a new one. Big deal. So your PS3's lens died. its rm300 to fix. No need to b**** around like Sony invaded Palestine or something. Cant we just get along? pft. |

QUOTE(EatMe @ Oct 19 2011, 09:05 PM) Answering TS question, here's my answer. you forgot the crz and ruf pick GT5 if you'd like a gigantic list of 1,000 cars. but the catch is, - 148 are nissan - 101 are honda - 99 are mazda - 93 are toyota - 73 are mitsubishi - and if you're a tree hugger, 3 Priuses are included too. - got different class of cars being modeled by the developers, which are "Standard" and "Premium". Can't do much stuff on "Standard" cars, with generic dashboard across the hundreds cars (just introduced). - damage is poorly rendered. - online feature is meh. pick Forza4 with only half the amount of cars on GT5, but, - all cars are equally modeled. no distinction of "Standard" and "Premium" cars like gt5, hence it's better. - sounded better than GT (but of course real-world is even better) - graphics looks better, with improved lighting tech (image-based lighting). - and if you're a tree hugger, 1 Prius is included. - can't use logitech g27. need to pony up for the pricier Fanatec (albeit it's better made). - got not much variety of weather effect. btw if you got the money, buy both. These 2 games are very different games, hence the reason why you should own both. physics wise, both got their own strength. feature wise, GT5 got Photo Travel mode while Forza4 got AutoVista mode. both got Tesla Roadster, so you can be the ultimate racing tree-hugger too. But the ultimate bomb is, if you're looking to drive a Porsche then you can throw both games away. |
