is there a way to switch off the service reminder? I saw one in previous post about how to switch off the reminder, but I cant seems to do it.

HOW TO CANCEL THE SERVICE REMINDER WARNING
1. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
2. By operating the meter information switch, the warning period is displayed on the multi information display.
3. Press the meter information switch once for 1.2 seconds or longer.
4. The service reminder indicator flashes.
5. While the service reminder indicator flashes, press the meter information switch once for less than 1.2 seconds.
6. The service reminder indicator is turned ON, and "CLEAR" is displayed on the multi-information display for 3 seconds.
7. After "CLEAR" is displayed for 3 seconds, the warning period to the next time is displayed.

Btw I notice we do not have the SETTING function for the trip meter, unlike Lancer where u can change to KM/L or L/100KM etc.

p/s: Juz done my 1k service in COE. Found a deep, 1cm scratch on my dash's 'wood trim' wth....! vmad.gif
*
we DO have the SETTING function.. it is exactly the same meter with have with the LANCER .. (not the new color screen 1).

To enter the SETTING function, your car need to be in STANDSTILL handbrakes on.. driving u cant enter..
press the INFO button repeatedly until u see The SETTING screen..

to enter the setting screen.. press and HOLD the INFO button..
there you go laugh.gif

thats what proton good at, follow others...  sweat.gif

actually in terms of product , 10 years life span is really quite long already.
Dun says proton, other product u hardly get that long..

Just FYI, even our computer, RAM .. u get LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY, it actually means that as long as the company still produce that RAM, u get the warranty. 10 years ago, i am using SD RAM in my P3, its way out of production d i believe. Most of them left are leftovers.

and they are giving even motor and door run channel warranty .. which i think is a very brave move ...
looking at our hot and cold climate.. rubber can easily harden. Some might know how to maintain it by silicon spray, but many does not. End u they will have to replace. Especially for those whom like to park under hot sun everyday .. my fren honda city 3 years ++ also kong ..

I'll take this stop production nonsense with a grain of salt.....last time dunno which website says discontinue Savvy...but still selling wor!!! Even if they plan to discontinue 1.8, i think it can only be one reason....coz most people buy 2.0 anyway...LOL. That's why they try very hard to push 1.8 to customers, last time when i buy also like that, push very hard to sell 1.8, coz maybe 90% people wants 2.0.

Spare parts shouldn't be a problem....same what...only engine and gearbox different mah...am i correct to say this?
*
Engine also same.. different stroke kit only..

sure?but mitsubishi dun hv 1.8 version lancer o..just afraid it will affect spare part on 1.8 version, such as engine & gear box part...
*
Mitsubishi malaysia did not bring in 1.8 only.. not tak ada..
Japan , russia, us, uk also got sell 1.8
so basically those tell u 1.8 not from mitsu.. they know nothing

u r right, its good if spare part not a problem...btw i like 1.8mt cz i used to drive manual..btw i get poison jz nw, n mk my booking liao...hope its wont be a wrong decision lo... sad.gif
i noe 4b10 engine exist at a lot country..but its less in malaysia so its maybe a bit trouble if v wan 5spare part in emergency..
*
All the parts are same as 4b11 .. even the timing chain!!!

The only 3 diffrrence..
1. Piston .. higher compression for 1.8
2. Conrod .. longer for 1.8
3. Crank shaft..

If there 3 items have problem. It is major d!! No point fixing.. put in 4b11 d.. other all same.. even ecu.. u just need to reflash the mapping

ei , we use the 1.8 piston back and change the conrod + crank shaft , do you think power output will higher than 2.0 or not? because the compress ratio higher , then we can save money to change less 1 thing  icon_idea.gif
*
For sure yes.. then u might worry ur wallet.. might need ron97. Else knocking due to high compression.. play safe fit back 2.0 piston sure no problem

Our cvt gb cannot take turbo sudden pulls... MT can.. but engine block not tough enough for 1 bar turbo... low boost turbo is ok... 4B11T engine is a completely different block... extra cooling and thicker walls. Let me see if I can find the youtube explanation...
*
Quite risky to boost our Na alu block .. crack then can go for 4B11T...

Better not.. so far i heard lancer is not frenly with piggy back.. it has a close loop function. might overwrite what ur piggy is trying to do.. unless they somehow cut off the close loop

Thats for tipu sendiri 1.

When u put in sport mode..
U pedal 10%.. The thing go send signal as u are pedaling at 30%..something like that.
Basically it does nothing but improve throttle respone tipu urself

but u get valve lift and valve timing at the same time. 12% better fuel efficiency, can rival the toyota's dual vvt-i already.

dont know if inspira is considered as lancer/galant or not. tongue.gif

Yup.. as&g as well.. There is always trade for something one. u wan good fc no power..

Actually our mivec currently is same as toyota dual vvti la.. Due to weight our fc are weaker
