The first custom ROM is base on DZKI1. So you can still use it. But it'll be 2.3.5

I confirm that too. I updated mine through KIES. Now running DZKL3. Since it's a new kernel, anyone knows that's new in it?

Battery life, camera problem, anything different?

-----------------------------------------------------
Does this mean, need new rooting technique?
*
I just updated, same 2.3.6 but different kernel. I cant really find out anything different yet.

Yes, need to re-root but so far no luck. Will keep trying.

EDITED - unable to root.

Perhaps others may be able to root?

Oh Yes. KL3.

Guys, I believe Antutu has issue benchmarking our new kernel. Best not to just rely on one software.

Here's my CPU spy. Looks like Antutu a bit cuckoo when reading our new kernel. Hopefully new release of Antutu will optimize our readings more properly.

Improvements claim by few other users
Battery life optimize
Camera fail bug fixed
Proximity sensor bugs fixed.

battery life  drool.gif  a lil bit or big improvement?
proximity sensor got what bug?
so far camera haven failed me ;D
1200Mhz in certain power hungry Apps/Gaming.
1008Mhz in browsing
800Mhz/300mhz during normal usage like phone call/sms etc. Depends.

I find the Kernel pretty optimized. That's why it's more efficient in energy usage.

About the proximity sensor bug, it's keep on red light for those who using previous firmware like DZKJ2, do notice, it will keep the tiny little infrared light on. Only can be seen in total darkness at the top next to the secondary camera.

Refer to XDA forum for more info Proximity Sensor Bug

PS - I used to stare at the thing wondering wtf is that? Some lazer will pew pew me later?
