Went to Samsung Service Centre this morning. I took my friend there because his i9100 has very noticeable pink spot in the captured images.

The SC changed the camera module and updated the firmware and did a full wipe and restore. The pink spot is less noticeable now but still there.

They said the SC is not authorized to replace any models. If we need to seek replacement or refund we should deal with HQ directly.

Didn't send mine to check because scared will take too long and don't want them to take apart the phone.

Oh yea, the technician checks whether or not phone is rooted. My friend's phone was rooted and apparently his warranty is voided.
*
So the camera module change wasn't cover by warranty?

Just for this time, it's covered by warranty. The next time, warranty is considered void.

Which SC is this? :S

Most of the 2.3.6 android of any device cannot be rooted with ZergRush due to permission issue fixed by Samsung.

Anyone happen to have working stock kernel DZKL3? Do share here. smile.gif

I need stock kernel of DZKL3 which is in zImage.tar file. Not the zImage format.

Here's how i plan to do it.

Stock kernel from ROM install --> (Odin) Superatmos to get SU --> (Odin) Stock kernel (rooted due to superatmos earlier) --> kTool app flash Superatmos to get CWM.

voila! Triangle removed !

yeah.. trying to follow those steps.
but a bit confuse with
When in Download Mode, start Odin, connect the phone and flash any stock Samsung kernel

few post above, @creezalird mentioned i can extract with the tool izarc the stock kernel from the KL3 ROM i downloaded.
now that i got the zImage file, how to flash that with ODIN? coz ODIN usually only allow .md5 or .tar.. but this zImage what extension is tht? smile.gif
*
You need Linux to compile the zImage into zImage.tar, then only can be flash using Odin.

That's why I've been asking for DZKL3 stock image to be flashable in ODIN mode. But all of them keep saying zImage to be flash using kTool app which I know it as well. I just need the zImage.tar file and not the typical zImage. There's differences.

Does anyone know maybe can we can flash this zImage through CWM recovery? I've tried to zip it into update.zip but fail when apply update.

1st we dump (like backup) the superatmos V2.1 to /sdcard/zImage
then we flash with odin the stock samsung kernel which get rid of the YELLOW triangle
but right after reboot, we use kTool flash back the dumped zImage which is the 3rd party unsigned superatmos V2.1. and i tot thts where the yellow triangle came from?
so how come flash it this time wont create yellow T?
*
If you use the App, it's basically bypass the download mode and directly flash into the phone. That's why it requires Superuser for it's permission to access the system files.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I notice that when i use DZKL3 stock rom + stock kernel, the proximity bug is fixed.

But when I flash Superatmos v2.1, the proximity bug is there.

What's proximity bug? It's the tiny red infrared light beside your front camera. You need to be in dark places to notice the tiny red light. smile.gif

You need to be in dark places as I've mention. Very dark places. Then you take a look at the front camera, right side. you will notice the tiny RED light.

ok, before i can see that. what setting i need?
and should i see it or not actually? under what scenario?
think the room without light under the table is dark enough

If you have a sharp eye view, then you can view it. Proximity sensor usually occurs only when you are in call. If you notice that when you are in call, the screen will auto turn off thanks to the sensor. But the sensor remains on now even if you just screen on and NOT on calls.

DZKL3 stock kernel fix that issue that only the proximity sensor is being used for calls. But for superatmos 2.1, it remains on the moment you unlock screen and NOT on call.
