QUOTE(premk71 @ Nov 6 2011, 05:28 PM) Written quite clearly that it doesnt work and caused the phone to die. You can flash official KJ2 firmware but you will lose your root. After flash KJ2 firmware., you flash back the KJ1 insecure kernel again to gain back your root and CWM. Use the link below to get root and CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327509This post has been edited by waveweaver: Nov 6 2011, 05:44 PM

QUOTE(fuzore @ Nov 6 2011, 06:21 PM) after reading all ur guys post i think i'll keep using DZKI1+root for the time being at least untill a proper root+kernel and stock kernel for KJ2 pops out in the net... @waveweaver does it really work using that MyGkernel meaning root and cwm is installed after flashing it? so the only thing left is the stock kernel la for removing the yellow triangle but for now none is it If you're getting a new bootloader then the jig wont work. It only work on the old bootloader. But why should you worry about the yellow triangle? You see it only on the start up :-) . Another way is to extract and flash the ZImage though i never done it since i sold my SGSII already.

QUOTE(fuzore @ Nov 6 2011, 06:53 PM) well u r right bro since that triangle can only be seen in start up only... maybe just for the eyecandy, but scare if wifi cannot work after that that is one big concern for me.. wifi should work properly if you flash official KJ2 full firmware then flash KJ1 insecure kernel :-)

QUOTE(fuzore @ Nov 6 2011, 07:21 PM) @gsan alredy post bout using that MyGKernel and confirm wifi working so i think i'll give it a try later... i can see that @aidfarh of xda alredy add a new version of his kernel MyGKernel v1.1just wanna ask something this DZKJ2 is not a wipe rom just like DZKI1 rite.. If you have CWM then do a Nandroid backup for your current firmware. Use Titanium Backup to backup all you apps and use SMS Backup and Restore app to backup all you sms. All of this only as a precaution incase shit happen.

Try power off your phone. Then do a recovery with three buttons combo. See whether you got CWM or not.? Learn more about CWM from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134290This post has been edited by waveweaver: Nov 6 2011, 11:03 PM

QUOTE(jenwai @ Nov 7 2011, 10:21 AM) So, if I'm just a normal user. I actually just use the stock ROM with rooting is just ok right? Coz, from what I understand is rooting is sort of modification. Yes, rooting is modified kernel in order to gain access into your phone system. Once you gain access, you can tweak your phone such as undervolt, overclock etc..

For those G version user that unfamiliar with rooting, i advice them NOT to root their phone as at the moment there's no custom roms to ply on. Better do your own customize using launcher and theme app from market. ~~my two cents~~

QUOTE(fuzore @ Nov 8 2011, 07:46 PM) that is a wise choice as bro @waveweaver said "Better do your own customize using launcher and theme app from market." there are still lot of stuff to do even with out rooting like games are all HD so play with them... Thanks. And for those unrooted G version user who still don't know how to customize their phone, can refer to my previous post #51 in this same thread :-)

QUOTE(FD3609 @ Nov 10 2011, 02:15 PM) yup.. can we uninstall it? if can, how? You had to have a root first in order to uninstall or freeze such apps. Any other apps that download from market can be uninstall easily without need of rooting.

QUOTE(FD3609 @ Nov 10 2011, 02:50 PM) i already root my phone but i cant find the way how to uninstall the stock aps,can u guide me waveweaver? Use Titanium Backup app to freeze or uninstall any apps from your phone. But make sure you know what you're doing. Uninstall some phone system apps can give more problems to your phone. Try to freeze the app instead of uninstall it. Look at xda-dev for the list of apps that are safe for removal. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069924This post has been edited by waveweaver: Nov 10 2011, 02:59 PM
