got sensation last night..so far awesome..how to check s-off or not?

i think i've bricked my sensation XE. was trying to copy a custom image for splash screen using terminal emulator but after reboot, it went into a loop.

the command i typed in terminal emulator is dd if=/mnt/sdcard/splash.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19

is there any way out of this? i've tried restoring previous nandroid backup but it still went into a bootloop.

Try wipe cache / dalvik cache and fix permission after nandroid backup, see if that helps.

there is quite a few selections, ranging from case mate tough / barely there, melko leather flip case, imak hardcase etc

i myself is using case mate tough.

Does case mate tough hard to remove from the phone?

i think if you are still on stock 2.3.4 is still the latest update..
if you wan try sense 3.5 which is 2.3.5 or other rom you need to root your device

if wan quick, then yes its abit hard. coz need to take out 2 layers.

warning bout case mate tough, its very good + great but if u a anti-dust whore, u will get alot of lint/fine dust stuck on the front of the phone when u put in pocket.

i myself using red mercury jelly case now for the shiny.

turn off phone
take out battery
insert battery and back cover
press volume down and power

you will see something like S-OFF or S-ON

you can also see hboot version. write that down if you want to use revolutionary to s-off your device.

that means your phone is s-on, with locked bootloader. you can s-off and root your phone unofficially (via revolutionary) or official unlock by htc.

for more info on unlocking bootloader (s-off) and rooting, please refer to 3rd post in 1st page.

is there any differences between unofficial n official? i mean about the result..

result is the same, as in once you achieve s-off and root, you can flash custom rom.

the only different is that official unlock, you're agree to void your warranty and that is declared to HTC prior officially unlock your bootloader. if you unlock unofficially, you can revert back to stock rom and s-on for warranty purpose.

good to know that before unlocking..not planning to unlock yet at moment..
still comparing my optimus 2x and sensation which 1 better.. sense 3.0 really superb..
but after reading some article sooner or later sense will be lagging.. is that really happen?

yeah,still have s-off & cwm recovery after restoring. but now i'm back to stock rom. can't flash any other roms though, everytime I flash a rom, it goes into a bootloop.if the sd card is corrupted,would it create this bootloop problem?

flash full wipe before you flash a rom..this should solve your problem
