he was asking if you did any soft reset before..

anyone try Nokia Map on N9 indoor? My N8 (around few minutes) can lock my position but not my N9 (already 30min+)

Both are _not_ using internut connection.

used gpsmeefo on my N9 and I got 4 satelites available

edit : now can lock position already. strange why it took too long compared to N8...

and I noticed forsquare will wait for Nokia internal GPS location first then only use internet to find nearby checkins......I wonder why on Android , foursquare do not need internal GPS but only internet for nearby checkins... hmm.gif

It should not affect since I have it enabled for Nokia Drive also. I did notice it's very very slow to get GPS lock if you do not enable 'Mobile data connection' under GPS settings.
*
Yeap, I do not enable Mobile data connection..

under the same condition, my N8 locks my position 5x faster than my N9....I don't get this sad.gif

strange? Without mobile connection just needed like 5 sec to lock my gps...why don't  you try restarting the phone?
*
Im currently indoor and just rebooted my N8 & N9

My N8 took around 2- 4 minutes to lock my position
My N9 still searching for my position...

both without data..

Honestly the N9 is faster than my N8 for GPS locking, but only if I enable data & I'm outside.
*
humm, im not a fan using data on GPS locking tongue.gif

can you try without using data? all my test performed indoor , yet to test outdoor

EDIT : tested outdoor, from col dboot N8 lock my position less than 10 sec...N9 lock my position after 5 minutes. sad.gif

I'm still in my office, just tried turning off all internet on my N9, tested with gpsmeefo, surprisingly I can still get GPS lock within seconds.  thumbup.gif

There is one advantage I noticed on N9 GPS unit. It caches your last known coordinates so maybe that's why it can still lock so fast in my case. On my N8, I can't lock onto GPS with GPSInfoQT when I turn all internet off.
*
can try indoors with both your N8 and N9 from cold boot using Nokia Maps? keen to know the result hmm.gif

The A-GPS can use either wi-fi or mobile data to help you get a lock indoors faster.  Just make sure A-GPS is turned on.
*
I'm just sad of my N9 internal gps isn't any better than my N8 sad.gif

Off topic, I wonder why N9 cannot find location by using wifi only , like android and PC

Well today I'm taking my N8 and N9 to go for versus in Nokia Drive..

surprisingly both locks my position at the same time, and same time too indoor doh.gif

maybe yesterday there is GPS signal issue around my area hmm.gif

conclusion ... I can safely say N9 gps deliver the same experience as with my N8 biggrin.gif

If you haven't tried QNeptunea (Twitter Client for N9), then you should try it out now. I think this is totally the best Twitter client for our N9 right now smile.gif

Download QNeptunea

p/s: It is not officially launched yet, so if you found any issues or bugs, do report to the owner.

Can it do "tweeted from QNeptunes Nokia N9" ? tongue.gif
