hi newbie here, what RAM is this? And is there a specific brand I should use? I got a 15" MBP at 4GB looking to upgrade to 8 GB if possible.

Sorry left that out. Its the 2011 Updated MBP 2.2 GHZ i7 1333mhz 4GB RAM. Since its an updated model I am not sure if I should use the RAMs been suggested in the forums which is KVR1333D3S9/4G. Thanks for your help in advance.

I recommend Steam to get Mac games. If I not mistaken all games for Mac on steam will also work with PC. So buy one get 2 version : )

Guys, is it true that i can't copy files to my external HDD which is in NTFS file format from Mac OS?

Anyone can recommend a system monitor app ?

And if I only plan to buy AppleCare later do I need to keep my receipt as proof of purchase date? or do I online register my MBP now?

Quick one, is it normal for the MBP late 2011 DVD ROM to make a noise at startup? Sorry if its a dumb question, its just a niggling thingy with my otherwise perfect purchase.

Today I upgraded my MBP RAM, when doing so I accidentally press a bit hard and heard a soft snap sound!!

I took out the RAM to check if anything wrong but it seems ok, but there was a small little piece of metallic dust speck which I suspect is like a component coating.

I am a bit paranoid so want to check if anyone knows if there is anything important there that I can test on?

Done Memtest so far and after 4 runs results are all OK.

Hi I ran Memtest on MBP which have been upgraded with 8 GB KVR RAM from Kinsgton.

On Memtest it shows that I have 6692 MB (6.6GB?) of RAM instead of 8 GB is that normal? is it due to 64 Bit restriction?

Hi Anyone know if its possible to get a screw replacement for MBP under panel? I damaged 1 of the short screws, as it was too tight and now the screw has lost its threading.
