QUOTE(X.SAN @ Nov 25 2011, 07:56 AM) Sifu sifu here... If i buy a MBP from a forumer if KO dee can i send back to APR like Machines etc? Or must contact apple directly? Thx noob question: what is APR?btw if still under warranty, can just send to any apple authorized reseller. if warranty finished already, den either have to send to shops. authorized reseller also can, but will b more expensive. |

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Nov 25 2011, 02:20 PM) apple, NEC, whatever, all are stuff that comes out of a factory. sure got some units that doesnt perform as good as it should. chargers, laptops, cars, etc. that's why we have warranty kinda true. my mac's charger has been doing alright for years now. and im sure thats the similar case for most mac users out there. mm mayb he let the charger come in contact with water or something..so just bcuz yours died within 9 months, doesnt mean all apple charger died in 9 months. u cant talk about quality without using any sort of statistics |

QUOTE(melvin418 @ Nov 27 2011, 11:15 PM) Wow managed to read finish the review. excellent review. i like the last part which says mba can replace mb white and some mbp. i think i made my decision. thanks lol bro. you seem to be on the fence. ive own the mba 13 for a month or so already. overall quite happy with it. the fan problem, yeah happens sometimes. and i dont even game with the air.Added on November 27, 2011, 11:22 pmIs the 13" screen okay with movies? Do you watch movies with ur mba? can connect monitor right? Added on November 27, 2011, 11:52 pmTheres rumor about 15" mba coming in early 2012? ill just wait and see ..maybe getting that. Since 2011 is ending soon. screen size, its satisfactory. if you wanna compare, just go to your nearest machines or any other apple authorized reseller and compare the 13" to mayb the 15" mbp. about the rumor, not really sure. yeah read it on this forum earlier. but i think a 15" mba will really defeat its portability function. |

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Nov 29 2011, 06:20 PM) Hi guys , i been using laptop with so many year , dunno why feel that it getting slow & slow by day , never have such problem with desktop but facing with laptop , like after a year using , the processor macam drop become pentium 2 only =.=" , not as smooth as the first day purchase this laptop bro that really depends on alot of things. like how you use your laptop and manage your files. i can say that mac os does manage files better than other OS does. has been using my mbp for 3years now without reformatting. no such 'slowing down'. as least not significant enough for me to feel it. just manage your files properly then i guess everything shudnt be that bad.so my question , will macbook pro facing this problem? Because i wish it can last for maybe 2~3 year? Upgrading every year will damage my pocket =( Or funding for an iMac will be a good choice? hehe QUOTE(melvin418 @ Nov 29 2011, 08:50 PM) Not sure to get the pro or air. I tink pro is more valueable in the long run. might be getting pro. will decide again during the next refresh. there is another thread comparing pro and air. you might wanna head there and read up. |

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Nov 29 2011, 09:50 PM) tq for so many advice guys i got the mba for myself bcos i travel often. and never looked back. it serves for almost all my needs. in your case, if you are opting for the mbp just to bring it to your girlfriend's place, den i think the better option would be to get the iMac (based on how often would you need to do that).i get some recommend for macbook pro 2011 13" with extra monitor (for better view) RM 3,699 i5 dual-core only + monitor (RM500~RM600) pro: portable , i can doing photo editing outside cafe or bring to my gf house iMac RM 3,799 can get 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 without need to extra monitor pro: powerful device , but only can be use when i'm home headache Is that alot different performance in term of this two iDevice ? Wish who have macbook pro and imac give me some recommend but if you are unsure, just get the mbp + external display. cos you might never know when you are to bring the laptop out. |

QUOTE(BRY7 @ Mar 10 2012, 09:07 AM) if its Apple Stock rams then it won't void warranties. hahha thats a good tactic. didnt know they amended the warranty 'rules' last month. they will only void it when you sent in for a diagnose before claiming warranty for manufacturing defects. you're adviseable to keep the old ram after upgrading to the new one, swap back to the old one when you need to send to ASP |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Mar 16 2012, 11:45 PM) Yeah, but i read from redmondpie rumors that 2012 line-up wont be including the optical drive as it get look-alike MBA design. Which is bad for me. no optical drive? whoa bold move by apple. we shall wait and find out. please by june/july! Wait for another 3-4mths to reach our shore. it will be easier to estimate when to reach our shore when Apple release official news on their 2012 lineups. |

QUOTE(sbux @ Mar 29 2012, 03:31 AM) I need help. Thanks in Advance. about your first problem, i had that in the beginning when i was playing HD files that were pretty huge. i google'd the problem and they asked me to change the number for the stream output catching. this can b found in your VLC player preference. after that no more lagging. at least not when its stored directly inside the mbp. if played from external hdd without firewire or usb3.0, its gonna get laggy (at times). do google it up, as i have forgotten exactly where to locate the catching configuration in preference.1. I use VLC or RealPlayer to play my avi or rmvb files on my mbp 13" 2.2ghz . But whenever i try to scroll through the movie/show, or drag thru the status bar, it would take about few seconds where everything will freeze then move again. Sometimes, the real/vlc would even crash. Is there something i can do with the lag-ness? 2. I am also using chrome for my surfing. sometimes when i switch my keyboard language using my own shortcut ie spacebar+apple key, chrome would hang. I need to wait quite sometime for it to process. this happens recently. nothing wrong before this. Any solution? I have adobe PS, Microsoft office and some games installed. Would it slow down my mac? sorry cant help you with your second problem. i dont use chrome on my mac. |
