download link: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update...-Z71-signed.zip

this is the stable release. the last time they release v7.1.0 was only a Release Candidate 1
*
I doesn't happened in my ROM bro. Tested on both 2.6.32.x kernel (Edgar's #3) and older RC 2.6.35.x Cyanogenmod kernel.

already flashed to 7.1.0 stable.. so far so good.. no wrong screen rotation, more fluid and smooth.. will be review bout wifi and bluetooth connection later.. and of cause review bout battery life..
*
Is the touchscreen working? The kernel can sometime causes the touchscreen going crazy but that's on 7.1.0 RC..
I tested the kernel from 7.1.0 stable just now and it still causes the touch screen going crazy for a brief moment every 6 minutes, but that's on mygingerb 1.0.2.

How's yours? I mean 7.1.0 stable, no touch screen problem?

QUOTE(kysl @ Oct 10 2011, 09:06 PM)
yes please do, im also very interested in the batt life, cos when im using eaV5 the batt cannot last long, only about 1 day, sad.gif. Now back on phantom.... sweat.gif
*
Hmm, I doubt any gingerbread ROM can give more than 1 day and several 10+ hours. Froyo and gingerbread are different version so battery life will not be the same. (note that phantom is a Froyo ROM)

Hmm, I guess the stock CM7.1.0 kernel touchscreen problem effects certain devices only. Presumably newer hardware rev?

And yeah, stock CM7.1.0 will bootloop pretty much with every non CM kernel out there. Even older ones can sometimes cause boot loop. It need a custom app data check script to work with 3rd party kernel.
In case of bootloop, I recommend to create a default CM7.1.0 boot.img replacement zip package, in case of boot loop, saves from reflashing all over again.

I've tested the ROM and revert back to mygingerb 1.0.2, touch screen problem is killing me sad.gif
Although the wifi fix for 2.6.35.x kernel is nice though.

Unfortunately, this is just the same edgar's 2.6.32.9 ubuntu #3 kernel bro sad.gif
The same as I am using now. Hopefully there's another 3rd party 2.6.35.x kernel out there

Some user might don't know this, but it is important to sign in, or "activate" ur phone with a google account on first boot, or initial boot (first boot after flashing) in order to get google apps. An certain apk will activate only on first boot after singining in that manage all the google app initializer.

Note that this is for google app integrated rom such as the eav6.

so thats mean, if i active a google acount now market wont show?
*
Depends on the ROM itself, but for most ROM, Cyanogenmod based specially, signing in your account will bring the setup wizard, and will started the initial market app launch.. So yeah, basically you can sign in now and enable google apps, but for best result in the future, try signing in on the first boot.

alright, TQ..

but now another prob is,

when i sett celcom 3g apn use bb simcard,

apn wont save... y ah??

but if use maxis sim card, not bb..

it have many apn sett..
*
Try and press the menu key nad reset to default apn, most Cyanogenmod based ROM (EAV6, MyGingerB, etc) have an up to date APN setting built in. If the reset to default won't work, try the TS post, or consult to your nearest Celcom center if all fails.

depends on your usage, what did you do for the 2hours usage?

But 30% battery for 2hours does feels like a lot of drain, what kernel did you use? Also, did you wipe the battery stat after flashing your ROM?

just some call n idle only...

#3 kernel...

wipe?? how to find that?
*
Hm.. that's odd, I'm using it too and I have moderate battery usage.

You can find that option in the recovery mode (vol up + camera + power button. hold till screen lit)
in advance -> wipe battery stats

Note that it is better to do this right after the battery is fully (100%) charged for best calibration result

QUOTE(terradrive @ Oct 13 2011, 12:10 AM)
I'm using mi300, I always think of "how nice if I can use 800x480 4" screen". Always thinking to upgrade to bigger screens.
*
For me, I'm more comfortable with 3.2 - 3.7inch screens. Indeed 4inch screens are best, but with 800x480 resolution, it is common for blurrier image and bigger pixel size. I prefer 3.5inch 800x480 screens, much more dpi density and perfect fit size. The 3.8inch display like the ideos x5 is also great with the same resolution. 4inch and above with 800x480 resolution is not the prettiest display around, unless it packed with qHD res or similar.

Always remember that with larger screen size, holding comfort and pixel density does include in the equation nod.gif

On a side note.
I just tested both SuperAOSP 8.6 AW vs Ubuntu #3 kernel (EAv6 kernel) and found out SuperAOSP gives more battery usage per charge compared to #3 kernel.

i cant.. coz wifi not working.. and batt drain to fast.. imagine im fully charged at 10pm, dont do anything to my phone and woke up at morning, i lost 20%.. but with eav6 kernel, just lost 2% at this morning.. what im wondering is, im pretty sure my #3.zip very similar to file eav6kernel.zip where i recently download.. and my #3.zip wont work at 7.1.0.. my oh my..
*
The thing is that stock cm7.1.0 lack of a certain script to fix the bootloop when using 3rd party kernel. Where other cyanogenmod based custom rom (from source code) have a certain script to fix the boot loop issue..

i noticed, when on eav6 with kernel #3, when screen off = music will shuttering, except the setcpu set on demand, instead of "smartass" :|
*
I personally increase the minimum frequency a little to at least minimize the stutters..
480mhz min and 600mhz max are good for normal usage. smile.gif

Off topic here.
Does anyone know if any local phone company interested in making any android developers working for them? For example making a full fledged ROM from so called "underground" developers to be their own official ROM?
Most developers, like me, are student, and on these difficult days, it is wise on making some opportunities (career) on something that they like to do.
I'm just saying cause not many corporate/companies look for those with hidden talents, and often most of them, not just android developers, goes overlook and wasted.
If so, is there any way on marketing these so called "unofficial" product? At least give the unsung heroes a chance.

(sorry for the off topic post, but just thought of it after an all nighter working on mygingerb ROM for mi300)

Well, I can vouch for mi300 on overall review.

let's start on the cons.
Indeed it is not very well build, I have to say that it has squicks here and there. And of course the galaxy mini will have more RAM then the mi300 but that's the only cons that I know of.

Pros? compared to mini? a lot biggrin.gif

First the resolution, mi300 have a HVGA screen (320x480) on a 3.2inch screen, means it has a ppi (pixel per inch) density of 160 ppi. Note that ALL application requires at least HVGA screens, and above to run properly, in Galaxy mini, you'll have a QVGA resolution, and believe me, not all application support that resolution, engadget for example. Plus mi300 have a crisp display in text and image compared to the mini, the mini as the vid shown is more pixelated so text and image won't be as good as the mi300. In terms of CPU and GPU, both uses the same Qualcomm msm7x27 and Adreno 200 GPU. In terms if it's easily "spoilt", depends on the user actually, all smartphone are fragile, samsung included, the mi300 although are a little bit durable because of its pure plastic built smile.gif

Although screen protector is a must, same as other touch base phone out there.

Overall I'd say if you bought the mini, you'll be wanting to trade for the mi300, if there's any since it's discontinued. Or you can save up 200+ more to bought a better phone, the Ideos X5 like Rudd said for example.
