i saw at kota kinabalu 3s center selling 559,
and their member price is slightly below 500

well... if you're into gaming then better off with another phone (dual core at least)
but,
if you just want an android phone, and you're okay with only gingerbread, i think it perform quite OK.
dual sim dual standby, WVGA screen, and 3g video call support, not to mention gps and wifi capability, plus, a 1600mAh battery matched with 650MHz processor, think about the battery life you'll get.
For comparison, the Mi357: same chipset apart from the smaller screen and smaller ram size, it's battery life was quite good, 1400mAh, and 2 sim cards standing by can last almost 2 days (with moderate usage)

make sure your data connection is on, and if you have wifi nearby try to use wifi to online

it 'was' because i didn't use it anymore , the battery life just wouldn't cut it, even with phantom's

i actually got a chance to play with for a while

from the look of it csl just take a random aliyun os phone and slap in csl badge and google's android into it.
it's quite good i must say, if you don't mind the kinda outdated 320x480 (even zte blade using 800x480)
played temple run, lag free
but the android 2.3 is a let down, although they promise will release ICS but still don't have ETA yet.
and no AF for the camera

well something got to give to have the RRP of 399 only.

why lower?
the price will eventually drop anyways.

mi501 - msm8225 is nice but the screen is horrible. try to put it on landscape mode and you'll hurt your eye because of the view angle, black will become mirror.

i also hope so, but, i touched the one with qHD screen (mars)
still not using IPS display
same with mi501, also using msm8225, 5mp camera, 480p video recording
msm8225 can't handle 720p & more than 5mp, no?

not bad, those who buy 2nd hand can consider buy, new s.p. is the point imo

csl still exist, which is now under spice international management.
ninetology on the other hand are from those who left csl when spice come in
so both still exist.

(from what i heard, i have no idea what happen over there)

on the bright side, now we have more choice (for local brand, at least)
want to go the MediaTek way, choose ninetology
or the Qualcomm way (still, their dual sim is not as good as mediatek's, imo), choose S-CSL.

model with clones all over the world (just like the mi-300) would be awesome
