QUOTE(mephyll @ Nov 2 2017, 09:28 AM) may i know where you open your PRS account? Yes. Those charges are paid to PPA.is it there are charges of account opening of RM10.60 & annual fees RM8.48 if online? other than FSM, any other website provide such service? i read in FSM FAQ, there are charges: WHAT ARE THE CHARGES TO APPLY FOR PPA ACCOUNT? A: For first-time PPA account application, there is a PPA account opening fee of RM10.60* which will be deducted from your investment amount. Subsequently, an annual fee of RM8.48* will be deducted from your investment amount for subsequent investment on the next calendar year. *GST 6% included. https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/faq/1...eme-PRS--8865#5 Whether you buy online from FSM or directly from other Fund Houses it's the same. At least, FSM it's zero service charge. This post has been edited by rapple: Nov 2 2017, 09:32 AM |

Question is which PRS fund it’s eligible for EPF investment?
Putting 6k into EPF then divert to PRS to get another 3k tax relief? You think IRB would allow such loophole to exist? |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Nov 3 2017, 08:01 PM) That I know. My thoughts are to use that RM6k you deposited into EPF to invest into UT. Make the money work harder. Which PRS fund is open to EPF investment?U dump 6k into EPF and the same 6k invest into a PRS fund to get another 3k tax relief? Basically you are trying to get a 9k tax relief with only 6k contribution, not a loophole? Anyway let me us know if you manage to invest money from EPF into a prs fund. I will gladly switch them over any day. If it’s a non-PRS UT then there’s is no tax relief given at all. This post has been edited by rapple: Nov 3 2017, 08:41 PM |

QUOTE(Zamorin1 @ Nov 18 2017, 10:55 AM) The purpose of prs is to guarantee that you have savings before you retire right?what happens if say the stock market crashes. I mean I want to ensure that my investment is protected even when the stock market crashes right? What kind of investment is protected/guaranteed besides EPF & ASNB?Those "investment" you bought through Insurance Company is also investing in UT. The only thing that is protected when you buy through Insurance Company it's YOU / YOUR LOVE ONES, not the "INVESTMENT". |

QUOTE(Trulyasia@ @ Nov 29 2017, 08:48 AM) Assuming:-Total Income - RM50,000 Less: Personal Relief - RM9,000 EPF@11% - RM5,500 Total Chargeable Income - RM35,500 First RM35,000 = RM900 Balance RM500 @ 10% = RM50 Total Tax Payable = RM950 If you have further tax relief deduction, your tax rate will be at 5% and also a tax rebate of RM400 for chargeable income less than RM35,000. If you can't save any tax from it but if you are not more than 30 years old, contributing RM1,000 PRS you will get the PRS Youth Incentive of RM1,000 from government. QUOTE(Trulyasia@ @ Nov 29 2017, 11:34 AM) QUOTE(ben3003 @ Nov 29 2017, 12:07 PM) not much, u say ur annual income 50k, then tax relief personal 9k, epf and life insurance assume u fully utilize 6k, then 2.5k assume u subscribe unifi also full. 50k-9k-6k-2.5k is 32.5k. so the tax u are paying is like at most 1k? then if 32.5-3k tax relief, is 29k, so u only can save less than 100 maybe lol. If follow the above:So not worth it. Please do ur own homework if u wan to calculate exact u can save, no spoon feeding here. else get the fuking PRS agent who persuade u to buy their PRS to do it for u, they are paid for that, i aint. https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/Personal-Fi...Guide-2017.html Tax Chargeable - RM32,500 First RM20,000 - RM150.00 Balance RM12,500 @ 5% - RM625 Total Tax Payable - RM775 Less: Tax Rebate - RM400 Balance Tax Payable - RM335 If contribute 3k PRS @ 5% = RM150 tax save |

QUOTE(fun_feng @ Nov 29 2017, 02:04 PM) Wth are you talking about?? You do not buy PRS, you pay your tax, you see your 3k immediately in front of you. What do you mean "never see your money again at 55 years old"?????? It's actually an instant return of 5% for that year and the fund will grow right? How can you amortized the return over 30 years when you gain the return immediately by paying less tax? Specifically to TS case, he gets a paltry 5% rebate. Amortized over a period of 30 years (estimate), that is only 0.16% p.a. With the money locked for 30 years and with limited funds to choose from, 0.16% is not worth the effort. IMO, PRS tax relief is only worth it if your tax bracket is >20% and you are near to retirement age If TS, it's still age 30 and below just put in RM1k to get the youth incentive. The tax you saved for the full RM3k it's not much given your tax rate it's still low. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jan 9 2018, 05:59 PM) Govt do one time payout either "The incentive will be credited on bi-annual basis and PPA expects to receive and process the pay-out within 4 months from the cut off date of 30th June and 31st December each year." QUOTE(iamkid @ Mar 16 2018, 05:07 PM) i also open in march. found no answer, only this. keep waiting When will I receive the RM1,000? How will the incentive be transferred to me? The RM1,000 will be automatically credited into the sub-account A of your qualified PRS Fund. PPA will notify you once the Incentive pay-out has been made into your qualified PRS Fund in the form of units. |
