I can't seem to find it anywhere, but is there any charges when we do top-up via the PPA website itself?

Yes. Those charges are paid to PPA.

Whether you buy online from FSM or directly from other Fund Houses it's the same.

At least, FSM it's zero service charge.
*
Do you get charged the same free if you top up via the PPA site?

You cannot withdraw it.

Even with the penalty the money just just goes back to the fund...

THe trust issue is with the govt, cause if the govt goes bankrupt... well you saw what they did with the Argentinian retirement fund

It's a PRS. Not EPF.

Just take advantage of the tax relief.

I don't even understand what people mean by companies has already "accounted" for those advantage, they understand the rebates are offered by the government and they are just fund providers right?

Any fees they charge are well documented and it's really not much different than one blindly throw money into UT.

After the tax relief ends I'd stop as well.

You can switch. It's free. If you are a bargain hunter can continue buying. Sometimes things are at a bargain for a reason.
*
Stupid question, I used to buy PRS from their own website, before switching to FSM.

Now when I check FSM, it only have whatever I bought through it and not the entirety of my PRS.

Can I get everything switched to a different fund from FSM alone or I have to do it on both sides seperately?

Are you able to switch PRS to FSM? facing the same issue
*
I spoke to FSM, they say for Principal fund, the only way is to totally move to a different fund provider (RHB,Manulife, etc etc) and then move back to Principal.

But when you move, you need to hold it for 1 year before you can move it back again.

So it seems like am stuck for now.

Well you can always continue using your old platform to buy PRS. Alternatively stop buying from old platform as I don't think there are fees if it's dormant.
You can start buying via FSM from next year.
One time trouble. I think is worth it.
*
Ya, but I wanted to change my funds because Principal APAC-ex Jpn is just shitttt! 2% return might as well I put in FD.

So that was the issue because my FSM only show whatever I buy through them and not those I bought prior in old platform lol.

I'm gonna call Principal next to see.

Which PRS did you buy?
3.62%  over few years is quite low return.

I thought my  2 PRS was good enough..
they were indeed good up till 2021,
now is going down hopefully wont become negative
*
Principal ex-Jpn has made for a very depressing read this past couple of years bangwall.gif

I've moved my funds out.

selling means kena penalty right? how much the penalty charge?
*
Switching or selling is dependant on the fund house also and the PRS rule.

I think I switch to CIMB RE40 no charges.

Back to your provider. If you are switching between Principal funds, send to Principal.

If from Principal to saw, Hwang. Contact Hwang and ask them to facilitate.

I already pay 10 year PRS. After confirm, basically I no need to pay any more.

Any idea can I still enjoy tax relief if I purchase another PRS?
*
Huh what do you mean? PRS tax relief is based on fresh fund contribution. It's based on assessment year, as long as you contribute during the assessment year, you can enjoy the relief if until they stop it.

If you put in 3k in 2022 but none in 2023, you cannot claim tax relief in 2023.

Sorry if these questions are silly, a noob here.

1) The purpose of putting prs is to deduct rm3k from his income right? for example:

annual income: rm50k - rm3k = rm47000

so the chargable income drop from rm50k to rm47000, so the tax percentage he need to pay drops too, correct?
2) i heard that most unit trust are losing money, is it worth it to put the money in prs beside tax reduction?

Thanks everyone  notworthy.gif
*
1) Yes, not deduct 3k from income, but personal tax relief for an individual, how much the relief is depending on his taxable income. At 50k, its around RM200 or so.

2) There are conservative and there are risky funds, just do your due diligent. For example, my RoR was around 30% or so YoY but the last 2 years was pretty shitty so that took me down a few notch due to China. Switched to new fund, now its tracking around to 10% .

DYDD.

That question you have to ask yourself. What do youw want with PRA? If you just want income tax relief only, buy any prs will do.

But if you want best performance than you need to search. Cause high performance may be volatile.

For me, I go with principal retire easy 50. Buy it via Fsm for zero service charge. Reason I choose principal retire easy 50 is because
1. Higher returns than EPF
2. The only 2 fund on FSM with international exposure other than AIA.The more international exposure I have, the lesser it's expose to Malaysian currency.

Keep in mind what I have may not be suitable for you as my risk tolerance is very high.
*
Dang, I somehow missed 50 and 60, so I was on 40. Need to switch.

Hi. My relative plans to withdraw his PRS of RM10K and move to EPF (he reached the retirement age so there won't be any penalty). Can he contribute PRS of RM3K at the end of the year to enjoy tax relief since it's not specifically mentioned net movement like SSPN ?
*
Can, the tax relief is based on amount put in PRS for that particular year rather than net basis like you said.

If I transfer out from provider A to provider B in current year, can the amount be considered deposit for the year? I have receipt and transaction confirmation for the "deposit".

Cause the amount is reflected in PPA website as contribution.
*
No, its not considered.

Thanks~ signed up FSMone and bought PRS (still pending)
Whats next ya and what about PPA account? I dont have yet, no log in details only a PPA account number provided by FSMone
*
PPA is just the admin for all the PRS.

You can create an account to see all your PRS contributions but you don't necessarily need to if FSM serves your need.

hi,may i know is this mean
example
AHAM PRS Growth 1 year return is 10.96% and 5 years return is just 3.40%?
*
Annualised means on average the past 5 years each year just 3.4%, but last year was 10.96%. This is VERY poor performer, given 3.4% is lower than whatever conventional safe asset you could invest in.
