I doubt that PM can give good return, and the risk of getting negative return, based on past 3 years performance of most of its funds, is not low.

Perhaps company E and company M and even investment banks A and C, all are way ahead of PM.

If you are in fund business, should know which are those companies behind the alphabets above.

Just because it belong to Public bank it's good? All cars made in the US is good (a false perception). Like we cannot say all funds sold by X is good (personal experience for this - not naming any fund house here)
Higher sales charge is good? Higher sales charges = lesser amount in our account unless the fund performance can cover the sales charges.
Good return/service/branding? If other fund house give same return with lower charge how?

People want to grow their retirement fund regardless which way they take. Branding might hold true for cars, phones branded stuff but I don't thing paying higher charge for a PM fund is justified.

Your statement regarding iPhone 6 does not hold water. If iPhone is no 1, how come they are no 3 or something in China?  How come they don't hold the marketshare of smartphones in the world? Yes, they are the gold standard of phones. Anyway that's off topic.

You know, I was just thinking, maybe we have an unreal expectations on UTCs who try to cari makan on LYN. Just because the last guy who came to layan us was pretty damn good doesn't mean he's the new standard. I wish he's the norm, but looks like he'll be the exception for now
When it comes to $$, we tend to defend where we put our money in. Most of us are here because we invest in FSM and the FSM thread here is pretty active. So for every UTC who try to tell us we are wrong, they better prove to use why we are wrong lor... True, not everyone make money doing it by DIY; some people are better off with UTCs, but it has to be a GOOD UTC else it won't be different from DIY

Oh yeah, on will planning, I'm not sure what it really means. But FSM offers beneficiary account where law governing survivorship would apply.

All I am saying is that management fee should be fairer to investor; low basic fee say < 0.5% p.a. but if they outperform peer or benchmark, then they deserve a higher reward. There are numerous efficiency ratios to measure the out-performance. Just choose one.

This performance benchmark remuneration is so prevalent these days,,, e.g., salesman have low basic but they get sales com; factory worker have low basic but they get overtime or production incentive etc...

I have a friend working in the fund investment industry. He said all the fund managers are gamblers. They are not much better than your gamblers in Genting. They just have more tools, algorithms and softwares to aid them.

I second performance based management fee. In addition if the fund goes negative performance, switching fee and exit fee should be free

I) Don't have a CMSLR license for fund management.

II) Already got a full time job. Not looking to change job at the moment.

III) Are you a HR of an asset management company? Do you have the authority to hire fund manager boh?
