Registered just for this thread, it seems like it's the most informed thread about the laptop i got, which is DV6-6001TX, with Radeon HD6770M. I also have a problem with the damn Catalyst driver, i clean installed the latest available HP driver, then installed over it 11.10 catalyst. Yet, i still have the same driver showing in "Software" window. Can someone help? How did u install your 11.10 when it doesn't support switchable graphics so you can't clean install?

When u install the driver, did you choose "Custom Installation"? If you did, is the option for "Display Driver" greyed out?

Where u download the driver?
*
I downloaded it from guru 3d. It's not greyed out, it's rather sayin that it is up to date, when it is clearly not.

I do use Driver Sweeper and i did clean install of official HP driver, but for 11.10 to work i thought you had to overdrive the HP driver with 11.10 driver for it to work properly? If i use Driver Sweeper - it will delete those essential files, i think

^ So it's ok now?

haha, i guess i blew the horn too quick... It is installed, it's all good, but hardware accleration is now messed up. Can't view youtube videos with it on and also can't play videos on the PC. It is ok in games though... but still a big minus. If you guys have 11.10 installed, do u have same issues?

did you reboot? it shouldn't messed up the hardware acceleration support tho.

what player did you use to play video? youtube video can't play at all or the  driver stop responding?
*
It's only Youtube and some video formats. It is pretty popular though, i saw a couple of threads about it. So i guess, i'm sticking to 11.9 for now, maybe next driver will be better biggrin.gif

What kind error cannot playing video? Didn't see any problem hmm.gif
*
It's DVXA, the driver disables it and also internet hardware acceleration. That's why only some formats have playback probs

Fixed my problem with Catalyst 11.10 by downgrading Intel driver. I figured that Intel's drivers incompatibility with 11.10 was causing problems, not 11.10 itself biggrin.gif

Hey Acid, what is the profit in uninstalling those Intel programs? Does it help gaming? Also, is DNA 11.8.3 driver the best framerate-wise? Or should i install 11.11 for those new games like Skyrim, Assassin's Creed and Batman?

Added on November 18, 2011, 8:14 amAlso, i found this guy, he is doing "Hp-like" updates for ATI drivers, newest Intel and AMD drivers installing together so that u don't have to install drivers OVER original HP driver. Check it out and link it in the original post if u think it is helpful : http://leshcat.blogspot.com/

As far as players go, if no one heard of PotPlayer, it's from the maker of KM Player which was the best player until recently it stopped updating. It is the most powerful player on the market along with MPC, and i prefer it over MPC for audio and better video quality. It also is updated frequently on this website with English version of the player (It is Korean by default) : http://www.dvbsupport.net/download/index.php?act=view&id=236. I switch off deinterlacing in the player and enforce Vector adaptive deinterlacing from CCC. Image is crisp biggrin.gif It plays every extension of media file too.

Guys, anybody have this problem : My sound is "clicking" when going above certain loudness level, like, say, 70% with "Loudness Equalization" and "Virtual Surround" , CPU usage is NOT high, all drivers up to date, installed cleanly. It's not an enhancement's fault, without it there is also a clicking barrier, but it's a lil higher because the volume is lower. Not a speaker problem either - i can hear clicks in headphones too. Can someone help?

Guys, can y'all help me out? I'm new to overclocking, so i used the same clocks Acid used in his posts about overclocking- core 862, memory 960. With it on, i had a couple of games crash, like Batman Arkham City and NBA2k12. Fans and Gpu usage got to 100 % after a couple of mins of gaming, drivers restarts a couple of times and then CPU crashes with BSOD "atimpag.sys" message. I use RadeonPro to force Vsync and MSAA. What am i doing wrong? Should in not use RadeonPro and MSI together? Or is it that i set my clocks too high? GPU usage is pretty normal until that sudden rise and crash, so i'm not really sure what's with all the crashing

11.11a was stable, but when i checked its performance in NBA 2k and Batman, DX9 - it was at least 10 frames decrease. That's pretty big. I don't know why, maybe because my install wasn't clean ENOUGH, haha. How is 11.11a with you, Acid? Performance based? Maybe i should try it again
