If iam not mistaken Yuu Kajima was MIA in the manga, unlike the Game lost encounter of space where he made it in 1 piece???

There a rumour that Yuu Kajima appeared in CCA, He was part of the Jegan reinforcement they came when Chen T pass em.

But I still don't get it. Selene's intention of trapping Noir and requesting the firing of the Genesis in order to destroy it was hard to comprehend. There's no need to sacrifice herself under those circumstances, as SG was still battle-ready.

The ending part was superbly done, as they planned to return to Earth after being blasted to some obscure place between Earth and Venus. The brief explanation of Voltar Lumiere was a good addition, making the fictional technology much more comprehensible.

However, I was slightly disappointed with the way the story ended. Just went back home? I was hoping for some deep space exploration! I felt that it would be better had SG travelled further to somewhere between Jupiter and Saturn, and 27 days of supplies were inadequate. It would have made the situation more hopeless and grim for Selene and Sven, hence leaving an open ending with lots of possibilities, eg saved by those fellas on Mars. The current ending is such that the viewer would feel less for them as it is certain that both of them will return home.

It would have been the best if SG was blasted out of the solar system, and both Selene and Sven had no chance of returning with adequate supplies. And just seconds before they died, they saw colonies of flying space whales, like what George Glenn discovered. This would at least put some association with the alien creatures that was so intriguing when mentioned in GS but forgotten throughout the series.
