star? depend on what 'type' of star

if im looking for a leader @ 'brother' figure on the team...see no further than Gigi Buffon @ Pirlo @ ADP

if im looking for brave type warrior player, looks no further than the likes of Chiellini @ Vidal

if im looking for silent low profile type but get his job done, looks no further than the likes of Barzagli

anyway, if u ask me who im gonna vote for star of the 1st half of the season.. I vote for Barzagli, bcoz out of 11 player on the pitch..he's the most underrated one.
U don't felt his presence like his defensive co-workers dat we noticed by their trademark trait like Bonucci(inexperience & error prone), Chiellini(tough tackling, defensive hardmen), Lichsteiner(great in defending & always bombarding forward).
Barzagli always get his job done by doing solid defending but we rarely noticed it thumbup.gif

barzagli deserve more recognition than chiellini and bonucci, think about it, without him at the back our defence would crumble. If it up to bonucci , it would defiantly crumble ...

I think Bonucci was under a lot of pressure to fulfill his expectations. He's really a shadow of himself at Bari...

And Quag aiyoyoyo...he got his rare start....and got injured...at this month again!
Did conte foresee this and got Boriello? sweat.gif

Agreed.... I would vote for Barzagli too.... He is increasing looking like the Barzagli that I have come to like so much at Palermo.... He was a monster of a defender back then.. tipped to be the next great defender of Italy...one of Europe's most highly sort after player.....

Unfortunately he chose a wrong career move by switching to Wolfsburg that destroyed his reputation and dampened his confidence.... It is good that he is reviving his career here at Juve...I feel he can still improve further..

Credit must be given to Conte too with regards to Barzagli's improved performances and confidence.. tactical changes by Conte does contribute to our improved defensive record as our front trio of Pirlo, Marchisio and especially Vidal are doing very well to help cover our defenders....

I hope Barzagli can keep up the good work and get back to the Italian National Team.... perform in the Euro 2012 (he unfortunately flopped at Euro 2008) thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Italy did not do that badly at Euro 2008 to be honest, if Toni converted most of his clear-cut chances doh.gif Nothing can beat Italy old people performance at WC2010.
I rate Euro 2008's italy to be much much stronger than the italy at WC2010, even without canna at 2008.

Italy is the only team who able to hold Spain 0-0 in dat edition of Euro. And dat was the strongest Spain team to date...with Villa & Torres in their peak form, and Xavi,Iniesta.Cesc trio.
B4 the match everyone said dat Spain would tore Italy (who use Panucci & Chiellini as CB) apart..but Italy could've won with Camo & Toni golden chances

Italy of 2010 just a disaster...partially to blame was Don Lippi who still think he's in 2006, and think the player he pick was supposed to be their 2006 self.. doh.gif

Yeah obviously the main reason why Italy lack firepower was the absence of Cassano.

and Canna was just awfully slow cry.gif . He just couldnt do his trademark interceptions anymore.

Yeah... Italy 2010 was a disgrace.... But on a personal note, euro 2008 was a bad tournament for Barzagli.. his chips drop alot after his poor showing in the tournament... Chiellini on the other hand, further enchanced his growing reputation with a series of commanding displays...especially against Spain....

im kinda sad & frustrated reading some news about some section of Juve fans holding the anti-Boriello banner during Lecce match

the man is already a bianconero so why unsettled him b4 he even start? doh.gif

i bet those are the same bunch who asking Pepe to leave & bashing Barzagli signing back then...and might be praising Boriello if he doing good with Juve. Total hypocrite

The local fans are not very good on this...haha...The locals should really look at liverpool fans on how true fans should stand by their team. laugh.gif

Biorello is a OK signing for me. He's decent but I believe there are better alternatives. Oh well, since Quag's injured, he'll get his chance.

Hahaha... I hope you are not referring to me.. I did not bash Barzagli's signing back then.. He came in at a meagre price of 300,000k.. nod.gif

I did however want Pepe to leave.. I am not particularly singing his praises now.. but he to me surprised me by his very much improved performance biggrin.gif

nope...don't intended it to anyone.. Just for those who bashing Boriello even b4 dat guy even start for Juve..and towards myself also

Im also kind of skeptical when Juve sign Barzagli.. And back then if u remember im the one who bashing hard on Quagliarella signing.
Stating dat he was an "average player & not 5-star player we want/need". And its all turn out Quag prove me wrong..and im start
praising him afterwards..so yes I admit im a hypocrite back then. biggrin.gif

Now its the similar case with Boriello.

After watching barzagli , i think Boriello on loan or short term is ok, could get worse player or better player but sure with high price.

Martin Caceres & David Pizarro might follow suit in maybe couple of days/week. If Caceres join Chiellini can move back to center.
Bonucci as subs..to be honest im still not confidence with him marshaling Juve backline. Esp when we still on the 'crucial stage'
of the season.. January & Feb always turned out to be make@break months for us

Yeap... Agreed... Chiello should be at the heart of the defense along with the ever improving Barzagli.. Caceres is a rather good signing... I hope he has improved to be a better player than he was when he was with us two seasons ago.. David Pizarro is quite an able backup to Pirlo...

Boriello is not a bad player, but neither is he a good one either... but I still rate him slightly higher than Matri..

And I guess we will very soon see the last of Amauri, Toni and Iaquinta....good riddance doh.gif
