I'll be running it stock for a long while. If someone is curious about benchmark scores, post the app link and I'll see if i can do a few.
There are some benchmarks on youtube. Huawei Honor is Huawei Mercury in US.
Huawei Honor/(Glory), Huawei Glory turns Honor (U8860)?

I'll upload some pics some time tomorrow.
Hardware wise I'm sure you guys did the comparisons and knows the bang-for-buck factor. "How is the actual user experience?" was on my mind. Answer is: Very good, I think Huawei spent a lot of time on this phone. *When you hold it in your hands, it rightly, feels like a solid phone. There's no plastic-iky feel (it is made of plastic though); tapping at the touchscreen and tapping at the backcover sounds the same *Uber fast bootup. It fully boot up before I counted to 6. It turns out Huawei have some sort of Deep Sleep Hibernation feature in it. *The launcher (AHome) and the pre-installed apps are ok, nothing to shout about. It is a Google phone, so lots of native Google apps. *Supposingly Huawei will provide 16GB of cloud storage for Honor devices. I'll check that part out later. - The camera is not as fantastic as the rest though Summary: Midrange phone @ amazing price. |

QUOTE(ultrajack @ Jan 11 2012, 03:57 PM) may i know, is ICS that important? im considering between this and samsung galaxy W. but galaxy W cannot update to ics ICS is important as Google promised better UI experience. It has the biggest revamp since 2.3. If one is looking to buy a new phone, it is better to be upgradeable to newer OS rather than not. You have the choice of wanting 4.0, or 2.3 or 3.0 for that matter. QUOTE(nickoh @ Jan 11 2012, 03:59 PM) As the benchmark by usercricket shows, this phone is not likely to be lagging for games. You can link up a free game app if you want me to try that game using my Honor. |

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Jan 11 2012, 04:30 PM) ashburn98, how is it after 1 day, encounter any issue? honestly camera is rather a extra feature that i dont use often..just too nitpicking QUOTE(nickoh @ Jan 11 2012, 04:44 PM) thanks ashburn98. i hope it wun lack coz i've ord ordered. lagging will me my biggest fear.. First day of a full usage; superb battery life. 3G on all day; music & internet anytime I wanted. My typical day ended with the battery at 35%.Added on January 11, 2012, 4:49 pmashburn98. juz try the normal angry bird or asphalt 6 . thx so much What I did at dinner outside was surfing the forums, download the Asphalt 5 HD free game (97MB) and play it for a while. One hour of those activity sapped 10% off the battery. Asphalt 5 HD has no lag. Browser no lag. Homescreen no lag. The pixel density of the screen is very good. The fonts came out sharp. LYN forum reading/surfing doesn't need any pitch zoom. |

you can ask me to try out games from marketplace. Show me the application link (free games).
Battery life has higher importance for me. I get to do whatever I want whenever I want. Like todays 6 hours youtube on 3G stress test, I now can confidently go without car charger when using GPS, for example. |

How's Honor at your end?My day ended at 49% battery left with 3G on permanently, and used 15.92MB of 3G data. The battery lasted until 3pm. I consider it as one and half day of usage.

It's on 2.3 stock.
A demo of ICS (4.0) was available for download until a few days ago. Someone wrote in XDA that Huawei tweeted saying a full ICS will be released in 2 week's time. You can see how the phone runs on the ICS demo @ youtube. There are a few of those. |

Thanks for the feedback. Hanging back with 2.3.6 until the next update comes out. Camera improved is welcomed news.
Among one of the reason why I bought this phone is because I'm banking on Huawei building up their Android branding; that they will provide regular official updates. Official updates, in regular intervals and added functionality, are easy and time saver compared to custom roms. Sadly for me, official updates is one part some company doesn't deliver. Partly because they spam lots of models every year for market segments (resulting in updates for each model slow to develop) and partly because hardware specs are racing ahead (low product shelf life). Having said that, I hope XDA will have some custom roms in 6 months time. I don't know by then if Huawei still have the same commitment level like what they showing now for ICS. |
