Can't even dream of 4th place right now. If we get top 10 at the end of the season, I'll be grateful enough

Let's cut the players some slack. The crowd isn't doing much favour either. That's home game we are talking and the crowd sleeping?
*
When you're watching a god awful game like that, anyone would feel like sleeping....

LOL enough with Rafa la. He's had his moment but no more. He has lost his touch IMO. Even at Inter, he failed to regained his touch again.

QUOTE(nando @ Nov 6 2011, 12:11 PM)
yesterday match
-Carrol hit the cross bar in first few minutes
-Agger's header did not hit the target despite the goal mouth at his mercy
-Enrique failed to put in a simple cross when all he needed was just to put in in Kuyt's path
-Kuyt was caught offside (rightly so) but its was inches and i've seen goals allowed in same situation
-The several outstanding saves by the keeper
-Even Downing came close with one effort

I mean....the problem last night was we couldn't score... not that we were sitting back or we can't find a way through a parked bus....

I didn't see the MU match but from what i heard, they found it difficult against Sunderland too....it takes an ex player to help them get the single goal...
I am not making excuse, its just frustrating to see the goal not arriving last night...but more frustrating to come here and see comments asking for manager to be sacked and half the team to be sold off....
*
Not that we couldn't score. Swansea outclassed us at Ainfield. They had better possession, passing, crosses, defending and goal keeping throughout the whole night. I don't have problems with people who take all the positives only from the game, but I have problems with people who won't admit something as simple as this. We sucked last night and that's it. If you want to talk about goal scoring opportunities, Swansea probably had the same many chances as us. If they had been longer in PL, we would get trashed last night. Yesterday's game was like the Tottenham game all over again.

Sorry to say this and to Johnson fans, but as of right now, he is not working. Kelly is better than him at the moment. His attacking doesn't work and his defense is questionable. Should I say, selfish? Far too many times he left us vulnerable when he goes forward. We already have someone who can go forward and doing much better job right now, Enrique. IMO, bench him for a few games and let Kelly come in as the starting XI.

QUOTE(hfi @ Nov 6 2011, 02:13 PM)
Enrique was as bad as well last night. I don;t know whta it was but there were times when both our fullbacks were just parked outside not wanting to go forward. In any case, the fullbacks movement is mostly dependant on the players in front of them and the upfront players were having their own sets of problems. A lot of things were wrong last night. Suarez didn't look as sharp and when he did, everyone else was fraction second slower to his speed of thought. The problems were mostly the movement (or the lack of it) up front by Downing, Suarez and Henderson (Kuyt in the 2nd half). In the first half we were practically playing with 10 men as Henderson went missing. By the time Kuyt came in, Downing started to go missing and Suarez was still struggling to find form. And by the time we woken up, it was already too late.
*
Enrique is more consistent than Johnson, of course with the exception of last night. As for Henderson, Downing and Adam; I'm too lazy to write anything about them right now. I've been writing the same thing about the trios for a while now.

“Everyone was angry and disappointed, some more than others, but that is the way it is,” the defender from Denmark said. “Sometimes we looked like headless chickens running around after the ball. It was far from good enough and I don’t know how we can drop that far from last week [a 2-0 win away to West Bromwich Albion].

“It’s puzzling. But that’s football. You can’t explain it. Our home record speaks for itself. It is far from good enough. You have to give Swansea credit because they played well but that doesn’t make our performance better. We were really, really bad. When we got the ball, we lost it straightaway.

“We were not sharp enough. We did not press well enough. There were so many things that were really disappointing, especially after we played OK last week. We know what we can do.”

Agger also warned his team-mates that unless Liverpool improve, they will fall short of their target of qualification for the Champions League. “If we play like this, we won’t do it,” he said. “We have got to move up a level or two. I won’t say it is not possible, because it is, but it is up to the players. We are the only ones who can make a difference. We definitely have to do a lot better.

“We have to win these types of games, no matter which kind of team we put out. We are Liverpool Football Club. We have to win our home games.”

Couldn't have said it better.

the facts are:

we most probably overspent/overvalued on average players
we get results below expectations
we seem to have 'obligation' to play expensive players

its ok to feel optimistic. but facts are facts. i'm not being pessimistic

You know what hurts me the most? Seeing players like Suarez and Kuyt get frustrated on the pitch. Such passion. Unlike "some"...... whistling.gif

Get Torres back for half the price please sad.gif

Suarez was originally signed to co-op with Torres anyways. Such a shame. What a duo that would be.
