Am using a stock unrooted 7.0+. Updated to 4.0.4 using KIES. Took approx 1hr 17min to download on Streamyx 1Mb connect, 7 or 8 min to install. Tab rebooted itself and ran optimization for my apps. All phone contacts, logs, messages are intact. Only two minor quibbles: it couldn't load the Samsung widget onto the home screen (and I happily trashed that notification), and the shortcuts in my other home screens are gone, but that's easily remedied.
My modest collection of apps are all working fine. This tab is now blazing fast and smooth in comparison to when using Honeycomb. Gone are the lags that mildly irritated me at times. Swipe the lockscreen and the home screen zaps to view. Animations are fluidly smooth and I don't know if it's my imagination but even the font looks sharper and crisper! It was worth waiting for M'sian ICS. Now I'm wondering how much better a user experience I can get out of Jellybean (if Samsung ever decides to give it to 7.0+ users).

Never had problems with KIES. Using XP Home SP3 with regular maintenance using CCleaner and Eusing free registry cleaner. No warez or notti stuff on my pc.
Explored every nook and cranny of the updated 7.0+ this morning. All is well, am very happy!

No complaints about ICS..battery life seems to have improved. In HC's "Settings", there was an option to disable background data. I can't seem to find it in ICS, or is there no longer a need for it?
EDIT: Scratch that question...discovered that a mobile data limit has to be set, then only can one disable background data.

QUOTE(UnrequitedC @ Sep 11 2012, 05:22 PM) But does it accepts normal sim card (The one used for phone only), or only the 3G sim card ? I've used Digi "normal" 2G SIM and Maxis 3G SIM on the 7.0+, no problems.

QUOTE(Daffy5000 @ Sep 19 2012, 07:44 PM) Hello I found the battery life of Austrian no good as it doesn't last. Just flashed this morning to malaysian firmware via odin v 1.85 no problems. Apps still there. Plus and I did it this morning before rushing of to work, it was optimising the apps as I was driving off. So far, was using it on standy till 3 pm was 95%, then some surfing and a few phone calls and using waze with GPS for traffic. Now home, 7.42 pm only 67%. So far battery life for malaysian seems better than Austrian firmware Anybody else has feedback on battery life ? Added on September 19, 2012, 7:47 pmI use 64k (digi) normal and 3g (maxis) card both works... Added on September 19, 2012, 7:53 pmI both from Lowyat the phone accessories shop. RM 25 for 7 plus. So far so good no complains Your usage is rather similar to mine, and yes, I can vouch for a markedly improved battery life on M'sian ICS when compared to HC. Without any GPS usage, I get home with 70-75% battery life remaining. On one particularly slow day with just a few voice calls, about 17 sms, a few minutes on wifi and 3G, I got back home with 87% battery left!

I'm gonna wait for M'sian rollout of JB. But for those who feel comfortable with the risks involved, http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/388235/2...xlq6-update.htm

QUOTE(azyune @ Sep 26 2012, 11:45 PM) that article is just telling about incoming JB update, clearly not about flashing non-M'sian JB release, from the way you put it .. I was too laconic. Try reading it as: I'm waiting for the JB update and am content with the version of ICS I have now, but to those who want to update ICS, the info is in the article as per the URL.
