lol... I meant to say un-installed the new market... but after a few minutes, it gets installed again...

hmmm, this new market seems better than the last one I tried... ok la... will be open minded about this one..

im getting 3.1.5. it just suddenly installed by itself. I was installing the new gmail apps when the new market suddenly popped up...

too late... haha... told myself to give the new market another chance... bit if still fail me, will try this method. dun have tb and not rooted, so can't freeze.

should give face and not troll the apple thread today...

anyway, sad that he's gone. no doubt that he's good at marketing and improving on what we already have...

i've never liked is dictator-style but yes, he's contributed a lot to the industry -- making desktop and laptops sexy... many touch-interface easy to use...

you're not being fanboyish... we're just being human. we naturally feel sad when someone who's contributed positively passes away...

i was expecting to see more fight between apple and android... coz let's face it... it's competition that brings us innovation, etc...

there's no good way to answer this. it depends on whether sgs2 meets your requirements and budget. if yes... just buy it la... explanation is a few pages back. sometime yesterday afternoon/ evening.

someone wants extra post count and stars?!?

was looking at what gallery detected on my phone and noticed a few videos which I was sure i had never seen or downloaded before... took me a while before i finally found them -- did not know how to find the file path from gallery, so had to check out all the folders using file manager.

traced it to a folder called tapjoy. checked out the tapjoy website coz i dun recall installing any apps called tapjoy... it's a company doing ads. one of the clients is GLU. hmmm...

i'm a bit annoyed coz there were about 4-6 videos and each were about 1-2mb. so those who were watching their bandwidth would have been caught off-guard.

anyway, i dun have glu games... so i'm wondering which other company is using this tapjoy... sure going to watch and maybe blacklist it.

specs is one thing la... sometimes good specs dun translate into good end result

as for sgs2 and getting the G version... ask yourself... if you go test the G and non G version, would you be able to feel the difference? but if you're planning to mod and get support for ROMS, then ya... have to wait and see what happens. but for casual users... i dun see how the G or non-G will make any difference.

of course you can choose to wait... by then... your choices would be something like sgs3 vs some other new models.... and you'll ask for opinion in a diff thread... and maybe wait... till sgs4 vs sth else... and then ask again... and then wait... *you get my point*

no doubt weird things to happen with this phone...

encountered this 1-2 times... phone shows got signal, but the error messages says otherwise.


as for phone shutting down, i have on encountered 3-5 times. but i cannot be 100% sure what happened. all i know what i placed it in pocket and later when i took it out, it was off. when i first mentioned this, some forumers did ask if i was using a case, etc... indicating case could be the culprit.

from what i can recall... ya. can't really be 100% sure though coz it's not happened in the last 1-2 weeks. sorry, didn't really bother coz i think it could have been user problem as well.

it looks like A4 size... for sgs2 sp? kinda not environment friendly, no? heh heh...

between matte sp which makes the image not so clear... vs clear sp which you get the clear image but blurred by your finger prints... i prefer clear coz finger prints can be wiped.

plus, i dunno but fingerprints isn't that big an issue for me. i'm using sgp's clear sp.

anandtech has a good writeup on this... basically, they concluded there's a likelihood of two types of camera/ cmos being used for sgs2.

one of them is probably the one that causes the pink spot. its usually only apparent in low light conditions. even some of the sample photos posted in the review -- you can see the pink spots. see:

i have the non-G and it glows red as well when the sensor is in use.

it's not really that obvious... but you can see the sensor will be a bit reddish. normal times, its dark.
