just ask contractor to come see. different contractor quote different price..and dunno how big is ur wall. estimate a few hundred to 1k. but the thing about tearing down wall is..u also got to re-do ur floor tiles for both rooms. very costly le..

hi..generally we all want to just patch back the area.. Sure can patch back the part provided u can find back the same tiling. If your tiles are very old already and can't find..then you don't have much choice but to change tiles. Even if u find back the same tiles, it will be different a bit the colour. unless u can accept ..will look a bit ugly lo..
