I think it's mainly because how we perceive the Malaysian streets are "boring" therefore we do not really make it an effort to take photos actively?

Which is really a waste since there's stories everywhere... I don't live in Malaysia anymore but everytime I go back, I see a lot of changes and its really worth documenting before the old disappears for good. |

I do, but I'll not look into my viewfinder to "double check". Right after i snap the photo and smile and nod at the fellow, and walk away casually. Some people will just stare at you as you walk away puzzled, some will smile back, some will laugh, that's just based on what happened to be when i was in Hong Kong

Yeah, totally agree. However I've been in cases where the person of subject would approach me with a genuine smile and just ask to have a quick look at the photo, and more often than not, i receive surprisingly positive reactions! One thing I still do not have the balls to do is to pounce right into their face (like 0.5 meters away) and snap their faces, would love to try that one day tho.

Bruce Gilden is total boss imho. But yeah, I guess his method of taking photos is a little too intrusive. Have you guys browsed Charlie Kirk or Junku's albums? They are absolutely stunning.

QUOTE(knight @ Dec 4 2011, 11:34 PM) Really up to the situation... how fast the "traffic" is moving and how still you can hold your camera. It looked like his camera is rested on something.
