question:
credit card interest charge when together with epp assume retail outstanding = rm2000, epp outstanding = 2400 (12 months) hence : the total minimum payment = 5% * (2000) + 2400/12 = RM300 am i right?? if paying minimum only, does the epp outstanding getting charges interest?? (because i know the outstanding for retail will charges since the posted day) just wonder.. i asked here |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 2 2012, 12:09 PM) Above is not how the 5% works. Minimum payment should be 5% x RM2300 = RM115 and whatever balance will be imposed interest every single day including whatever amount posted to your account thereafter. i know i know. but i just wan to know the interest count, well, so far i settle my outstanding every single time (although still new) Just pay amount stated as Outstanding Balance and you won't get charge interest. If you just pay 5% minimum, better not have a credit card because you are living beyond your means (and that includes going with 0% EPP or whatever installment plans). as i understand: 5% from total outstanding + interest (if no carry forward = no interest) + installment = minimum payment if after due, the total outstanding will be charges interest (right?) + all transaction thereafter will be charged interest as well but i just want to know whether the outstanding get charges? reason i want to know: worry, *touchwood* if one day,as the emergency fund that i build up might not enough to cover, hence some of the expenses that need to carry forward for next month statement |

QUOTE(hye @ Jan 3 2012, 12:04 AM) I'd suggest you to always make full payments. okay. CC interest calculations can be complicated if you don't understand how it is done. The last thing I want to happen, if for you to come in here and blame us for miscalculating your interest. It happened somewhere in this thread already when the reader misread cash advance charges + interest and "sounding" like blaming us. There's only 1 thing you need to know - always pay in full. Cannot afford it in cash then don't use credit card to justify it. No emergency funds needed ... no calculations ... no headache. QUOTE(jchong @ Jan 3 2012, 07:40 AM) When I asked, they said internet transactions don't qualify for weekend 5% rebate. To qualify the card must be swiped. that's not true.. (at least not ALL internet transaction not qualify)QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 3 2012, 08:01 AM) Did anybody receive emails from Maybank CEO titled: Dato' Sri Abdul Wahid Omar's "Thank You" Message 2011Dato' Sri Abdul Wahid Omar's "Thank You" Message 2011? Sender name is Maybank CRM. /k/ already discussing it just now |

technical question :
if i decide to buy an item via EzyPay, or 0% installment, let say, rm1200 for 12 months (which is equally rm100 per month) and half month later, i go clear 50% of the debt, so rm600 + rm100 (for that statement month) + any other statement balance.. theoretically : - 600 debited + 1100 (ezypay outstanding) now assume no new retail purchase on next statement, will i get free out rm600 from rm1100? (where freeze only rm 500) or no different This post has been edited by hiansitt: Jan 6 2012, 02:35 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jan 6 2012, 02:40 PM) There are two ways merchant charge 0% installment (they may have proper name for each of it). case 1 i mean if according to it.. case 2 is too risky right? (1) Block off entire amount RM1,200 from your Credit Limit, and require you to pay RM100/mth. (2) Does not block off entire RM1,200. However, will charge you every month RM100 in your statement. Both also means you have to pay RM100 per month. The difference is, one is charge lump sum and split. The other one is split and charge. Assume your case is #1, if you dump in extra, the answer is yes. It release back 500 into your CL. e.g. Your CL = 5000 EzyPay = 1,200 This month pay 100 + 600 Available CL = 5000 - 1200 + (100 + 600) = 4,500 Hope you can understand. thus, i still owe for 500 if according to this, but how about the scheduled repayment? is 500/11 months or still 100 for next 5 months? |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Feb 22 2012, 11:58 AM) ops, i see your reply wrongly, i mean : if you have 10k, you get the TP to offset the GST, if not, you need use cash lo.. you don't convert your cash to TP then only to offset with GST |
