How is Nokia not different? They are bringing superior hardware that none of the other hardware manufacturers can come close to in terms of quality and also useful apps that are WAY better than what HTC/Samsung have to offer.
Nokia is essentially bringing their capable GPS navigation software for FREE. What do HTC and Samsung have? HTC Hub? Feels cheap and can already be done better with other free apps.
Of course, people can expect more differentiation from Nokia, but that would be a bad strategy for Microsoft if it gives Nokia too much privileges because then other manufacturers like HTC and Samsung will back away from Windows Phones as they know they have no chance at all to compete with Nokia.
At least what Nokia is doing now is bringing superior hardware and apps compared to other manufacturers, something that other manufacturers can do too if they invest as much money as Nokia in Windows Phones. This definitely creates a competitive environment where companies will invest more into the Windows Phone platform and hopefully it can catch up with iOS within the next two years.
what ever happened to Samsung Galaxy - WP7 edition?
The Focus S? The body is cheap plastic, the screen is on par with Nokia's 800 and Samsung did very little in the software part to differentiate themselves, the Now Hub is just like HTC Hub, there are free apps that can do as good, if not better.
Of course, the Focus S has its appeal over Nokia, mainly because of the 4.3" screen size, which I think many people will like. At the same time a lot of people may like Nokia's 3.7" screen also, it's a personal preference thing. Other than the screen size, I'd say Nokia has the upper hand.
Plus some Fujistu-Toshiba phone, if im not mistaken, and an Acer one?
EDIT: And good thing these phones didnt have "7" or any other number in their names. Microsoft didnt think that part through for the first wave phones
You missed out ZTE Tania, if it ever comes to Malaysia the price should be around 1.1k. 4.3" screen on the cheap!

The ONLY way that I know of to surf group in Facebook, is via a stupid, ugly, touch unfriendly Facebook mobile that's supposed to be used by some Sony Ericsson dumb phones.
Are there any alternatives? Because this one is pretty dumb.
Overall, the update brought the much needed speed improvements. Other than that, nothing to shout about. Still will not use it for whatever purpose.
Problem is, if you use Facebook on IE9, it's SUPER touch-unfriendly. Even with a 4.3" screen, I find it hard to aim for a link without bringing the phone nearer to me. That's just ridiculous. Even the touch.facebook is not working properly so that's a no-go.
It's a pain in the ass when I want to check on my groups, since I coordinate my school projects using 'em.
Microsoft really needs to step-up their game and update the FB app to include all these functionality instead of releasing useless apps that other people can do better like MSN Movies.
Yeah it works fine on iPhone and Android, just tried it today on the same phone using Android.
Problem is, Facebook engineers are not even considering IE9's rendering engine when they built touch facebook. All they have in their short-sighted minds, is iphone and Android support only. IE9 is a different rendering engine, therefore sidelined, and did not receive any consideration at all.
Well, it's more likely for people to leave WP7 because of poor Facebook support as compared to people leaving Facebook because of poor WP7 support. So Microsoft better step-up their game and come up with a really good FB client, at least as good as the one found on Android to even consider themselves running for the 3rd contender in Mobile OS.
Added on October 31, 2011, 11:51 pmAt least Google had the decency (or smartness, depending on how you look at it) to include IE9 support when they developed the youtube HTML5 site.

I think it's unlikely that Jack Sparrow can do anything about it. Besides, RM30 for a full unlock is really a bargain already, my hats off to Microsoft for supporting the developer's community.
After unlocking you can Jack Sparrow anything you want anyway.
My favourite song recognition app is finally here! Can sing to identify songs hehe.
Added on November 5, 2011, 10:01 pmThe best thing about the app, aside from the totally awesome and useful functionality of singing with your voice to indentify songs, you can also pin the app to the start screen and once you tap the app, it will automatically start identifying songs. So you don't have to fumble around when you listen to a nice song on the radio while you're driving, especially if you're using Bing music search, the buttons are really small.

hi guys thanks for the support. i'm the dev for the app. do send your feedback if there is any issue on it.
p/s: Malaysia need App Exchange to submit apps
Really good job bro!
A few suggestions would be... 1. Can add Federal Highway feed for Seri Setia? I noticed you only have the one at PJ Hilton.
2. Maybe you can include the functionality where I can tap the links in the tweets and it will open up IE9?
I'm sure there is a lot of potential in this app, but I'm not sure where else you could improve on. Maybe other forumers will be able to give you better suggestions haha. But all in all, really good job!
The web app is not as good as real apps like Birdsong. I feel Birdsong to be the best Twitter client for WP7 currently, but if tile/toast notifications are important to you then maybe rowi/Beez is better for you, but they're kinda laggier than Birdsong. Birdsong is really fast and full-featured. Multiple replies work like a charm.
i direct download from marketplace. no need to stalk la...
Added on November 21, 2011, 12:34 pmif anyone of you wanted an fb apps effect like IOS. download the browser called "metro browser" and start navigate to touch.facebook.com
it works better than IE using this browser with that website.
oh by the way... the browser is free.
Hmm, metro broser seem to be working the same as IE9, recently touch facebook has been working, but it's slow, and the navigation button doesn't work also.
IE9's HTML5 is not recognized by a lot of websites, even Tonton.com.my also have a new HTML5 website, but only support iOS4 and Android. So sad.
top left are home. u touch that it will direct u back to home. send me your email address... i can send u a copy since u can sideload.
Ah, it's ok I was just curious only.
I believe the top left button is supposed to give you a drop down menu, can select to go to photos, groups etc. But that only works on Android and iOS. Sadly it only works as a home button in IE9/Metro Browser's Trident engine.
you can use without data? y i cant start the application without internet connection?
when starting and searching for destination, you'll need internet connection. When navigating, you don't need internet so you don't have to worry if you get out of 3G area (which always happens to me because I'm using Umobile) when navigating.
Even Acer and ZTE are hessistant to release their budget WP devices here... simply because Microsoft is dumb enough not to include Malaysia for its Marketplace.
