Anyone playing cleric? Is the game relatively easier if I play the melee class?

In demon's souls the magic class was also called the newbie classed since it was considerably easier to get through your first playtrough with just magic. However in dark souls, magic is limited in terms of attunement which is how many spells you can equip on your character as well as the fact that spells now have charges. So if you were to equip Soul Arrow for example you would get 6 charges (example) till you replenish it at a bonfire just like your estus flask. Pure sorcery builds are still viable but they kind of force you to mix it up a tad bit more than in Demons.

If you want to play a pyormancer though, from what I've read, you can also have a melee weapon to mix things up. Melee classes are also split into a few groups, thanks, dex builds, and str builds, hell you could even go SL which is basically a battlemage. The game doesn't get easier no matter how you play, but it's more that your play style which defines the difficulty of the game. For example if you go rushing in swords a blazing you would die almost instantly considering you have that much stamina to recover. Patience is a virtue and this game forces you to remember that.

damn i cant wait to start playing...the disc is already in ipoh...and my annual leave start on sunday night...1 week...hopefully can finish half of the game by then....!!

Hello, i just started the game about 4-5 hours.. currently lvl 18.. i got question, is it bad to kill a merchant before the taurus boss.. because i really want "katana" that u will be obtain after killing him.. is there any other merchant afterwards???

i start playing at 1am and just quick. damn! it was super hard! i've died almost for 30 minutes trying to fight those skeleton soldier. cannot past the 1st wave. shit!!! so tension. using broadsword and shield. im a knight. arghhh... :

What merchant has the katana o.o haven't seen one with it yet.

If you mean the those are for when you get pumped up abit, not for low levels unless you can take the punishment

PRAISE THE SUN!

I just got the Drake Sword and when I thought things were starting to get better, I got fried by a dragon and no place to take cover from the flames..

Arrghh!! my Dark Souls disc got scratch around the circle!

tested with 2 different game disc. when i eject the disc, it all got scratch! shit! i just disassembly my ps3 slim, and open the disc drive. WTF. got 1 piece of paper. OMG! my 10th hours old dark soul baby has been raped. i dont want to buy it again! expensive! hopefully the disc can still be read till i finish. T.T

afraid i will stuck in the middle of story. also dont have resell value. huhu.. the game is hunted! it know that i plan to sell it coz it super hard difficulty. then it let it self been scratch so dont have people want to buy it! im stuck with this game forever!
