I accidentally connect the batter in reversed polarity, and fried the diode on the Solar Panel. Now I suspect the controller also "gila-gila" already. Will need to wait for another controller. BTW I also planing for PWM Arduino carger unit. Now collecting/buying parts for this project.

The charge controller should have polarity protection nowaday. The unit don't have ?

Forget the project. Just use the charge controller. Save your time.

Make others project using the solar power source.

No idea, but i think the current must have fry something inside. Battery can deliver up to >100amps when shorted.

The Arduino is for fun project. But have to finish up my other things first biggrin.gif

I m planing now to make a detect low voltage from battery and automate the charging if drop below certain set limit. Alarm output included.

And also dumb the excess load to the grid if battery full. All will be control by voltage board and power relay.

Last time raining season cause the battery drop below 40% without notice it. Some damage already happen. Drain fast nowaday. (maybe lifetime liau). sweat.gif

Have a plan to change to higher capacity AGM battery. But need to increase the panel too. sweat.gif

I mean the battery usage. The wire didn't go through the controller. Cause max is 10A the controller able to handle .

And the controller doesn't have the programmable cut off voltage. It will drain till 10% to cut off maybe. By that time, the battery can throw away.

Actually you can use the controller light output to drive a relay, when is off, the relay will switch off and drop cur off all the supply from the battery.

The battery still need to supply 24hr to all my thing that hook up to it. Media player, astro, led light, clock, dry box etc..

Unless it drop very low, than have to unplug from the load. I give it 40% max can drop.

Voltage drop regardless day or night. Crowdy day but load is draining the battery.

So a voltage detecting board is suitable for this function. At certain voltage setting, it will trigger the relay. Setup a charger to be trigger when voltage drop below 40%.

That way won't interrupt the supply and able to charge the battery.

All the component is already here. Don't have time to set it up.

I don't use the light output anymore. As I need to monitor the usage of all the load.

For the grid tied system, do we need to get special grid tie inverter? Or any inverter can work??

Buy from taobao
Is just a panel. Battery is your own choice of selection, Li-ion or Mhd.

There are many more stuff, charger controller unit, inverters if you want to connect to AC peripheral. That only few. More devices depending what your needs

Nope, ups powered by ac, you need inverters.
