Hi, I am considering buying a sofa from a place called Florentino Furnishing. Shop is in SS2.
The sofa is L-shaped, 3+2, fabric cushions with leather looks. RM 3580. Anyone used this brand before? Any comments?

Let me check with webby about getting sofa from the factory. I know there should be at least a certain minimum order. I shall try to post the photo of my sofa later but nothing compare to seeing it with your own eyes and feeling it.

Looks like we have some level of interest here. webby told me he will be discussing with the factory in the next few days and advise for those who is interested, it is best to view the actual set and not only judge the photos alone. He will make arrangements for viewing if there are interest but will be in KL/PJ area.

just meet with prop99 and showed me the sofa. is true wat prop99 said, the sofa itself cannot be explained more by the photos itself.. must see the actual and feel it.. and i decided to get 1 set.. very huge and comfortable.. haha

I've got my eye set on a specific Florentino sofa. L-shape, fabric and about 10.5ft wide.

Bro prop99, thanks for helping me get the special price for the group purchase sofa. I have been using it for 6 months, fully abused mostly by my 2 kids and despite all, it still look very new. I supposed the thick leather is of a great help compared to my older set using thin leather which wrinkle out very fast.
Anyway, I am interested to get another set of sofa for my upstairs replacement. I would like to have the same type leather sofa but this time not in L configuration but in 1 + 3 seater. Can you pm me the link to the details. Thank you. |

I have been using it for 6 months, fully abused mostly by my 2 kids and despite all, it still look very new. I supposed the thick leather is of a great help compared to my older set using thin leather which wrinkle out very fast. Great to hear that. Anyway, this buy has been the best value for my $$ so far in terms of sofa purchase.Anyway, I am interested to get another set of sofa for my upstairs replacement. I ordered this sofa from corner lot furniture shop beside econsave cheras selatan balakong. It takes me almost a month still not yet deliver. Keep giving excuse, factory flood, short of labor. What kind of bullshit things. I dun believe it happen on me. I m going to ban this shop after they deliver it. Why there is so any if this kind of ppl doing business that no responsible to their promise.

The "leather look alike" also peeling off. Glass type or solid wood type would be my preference after this experience. Anyway don't have jalan for coffee table. Previously I get my grill guy to make a coffee table frame from wrought iron and I ordered cut glass to fit. Still functional but cost not cheap. |

PJ SS2, opposite durian stores. i have been there too. Most sofa are quite expensive. If you like fabric, they got 1 L shape / 3 + 2 sofa promotion price is RM3680, beige colour, very nice. Not sure still got promotion. I went to Luzini & Miva at Jalan University yesterday. Got few sofa quite nice. Price range 3k to 5k.

Recently, trying to help a friend furnish an apartment. Went shopping in many furniture stores in PJ, near Sri Petaling, Viva and some recent exhibitions for Sofa and Dining sets. By the time I go through some stores, I already got confused on the products especially the sofa upholstery. For leather alone, different stores confused each other up from the quality type.
Then go to one store with something to our liking. The store claim that softer bovine leather is top quality leather. Then you choose some harder leather, they say more expensive as it is better quality eve! So their tactic, draw you to some design you like first. Then either you choose the same show piece leather and there will be no extra charge. Any variation, you will be whack extras. Variation can include some extra or reduce cushioning, extra or reduce length and so on. Pretty lame sales tactics. Mainly trying to confuse buyers. For leather, some details can be found in some other discussions like http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2179746&hl=sofa. Also the thickness makes a lot for cost differences. For fabric, there are many vairety and could also be substantial price differences. At the bottom of the range is PVC and PU. 4. The frame and support must be sturdy. Frame usually made of hardwood and some instances steel. What seat support is used such as non sag spring or rubberised webbing. For rubberised webbing, tendency for sagging is much higher. 5. The mechanism, which is the least of my concern. Remember, more mechanism, more likely to fail. Having said that, there are still many tactics the trader can used. So be alert. |
