ppl regrind their cam to change their cam profile true.. but it is still only ONE SINGLE PROFILE whicn duration/profile has been change... get it ?

btw there is no 8 mivec activated cam lobes in a single shaft.. how then will u gonna fit the non-mivec cam lobes then?

Now, maddriver's cam on my car is something like this

272/288

Now how many profiles have been changed? The intake and exhaust cam profile have both been changed. So? Have you misunderstood thinking I was trying to do MIVEC cam profile switching on a SOHC? And then asking me to use my brain when you clearly seem to have misunderstand the whole situation? Now who is rude?

Simply speaking, I was trying to do a camshaft, regrind or custom billet or whatever, that could make the valves open as long and at the same time and maybe at the same lift as a 4g92 MIVEC engine would have WITH ITS MIVEC ACTIVATED.

Another way of speaking, simply regrind or reprofile the cams on a SOHC cam with 252/248 ----> 300/285, and when the valves open and close in that configuration.

Understand? I can have a bet you're at the wrong conclusion that I was trying to do something else right from the start.

errr... if u look at it...
there is only 1 profile change which is your stock profile....
u just up the duration and/or lift...

Ok, so I know where you're at. No wonder I totally have no idea what were you saying in that it is not long enough. From the start, I was just trying to change the cam profiles (the intake and exhaust) to match that of the ACTIVATED/HIGH CAM MIVEC profile.

What I'm not trying to do, is to transform the SOHC camshaft from having one profile to 2 (cam profiles switching as in that of MIVEC/VTEC).

So, now, please tell me again, to my idea, IS MY CAMSHAFT NOT LONG ENOUGH? AND I SHOULD FIGURE WHY IT IS NOT LONG ENOUGH WITH A RULER AND BRAIN AND GOOGLE?

So kc, in a MIVEC, there are 2 different cam profiles, on each camshaft, intake and exhaust. So when MIVEC switchovers, the high cam profiles are used. What I'm trying to say is to mirror the high cam profiles (the high cam profiles of the intake and the exhaust, at different camshaft I know), and try to mirror that with the SOHC camshaft.

I hate it when you jump into conclusions ppl are stupid. Should you not have assume all ppl are stupid and spoonfed, this argument could have been avoided.
