the stock kernel for the oxygen rom is good .

i love oxygen roms so much , they are very stable compared to cm7.  nod.gif

Downloaded. Apprehensive about installing it. Just go to recovery and install from SD card right? Do i need to wipe anything? I'm about 1 year+ late with the Nexus S. So i missed out a lot of stuff. In the newer ROM threads, they expect everyone to know how to flash a new rom. rclxub.gif

are you on clockworkmod recovery ?

for safety . make backup  ( nandroid ) before you proceed to wipe data then just install from sd card.
*
Does nandroid backup the apps and data on my phone as well? Or do i need to do titanium?

Can you link me to a guide of doing a nandroid backup? Never done one before as my Defy practically does not need one. If brick, just flash back to official SEA SBF. rclxub.gif

u can find the menu in Clockworkmod recovery , it called backup and restore

it backup all the state of the phone include everythings.

you can easily restore it by entering the clockworkmod recovery in case anything happen .

you need to do titanium for easy restore in the new roms.

last page also have ppl encounter this ?  hmm.gif
solved?

Okay. Solved. There's a problem with Superuser after i plashed to 2.3.6. Problem is that its a security feature enabled in the OTA updates whereby it locks up the custom recovery.

1. Use this method to force your phone into CWM.
http://nexusshacks.com/nexus-s-hacks/how-t...rkmod-recovery/

2. After that you should get into CWM version 3.x.x.x.x something. The problem here is ROM manager recognize your CWM as 5.0.2.0.

3. After you get into the CWM recovery, reinstall superuser.zip.

4. Reboot and go back into ROM manager, install CWM 5.0.2.0

5. Superuser working fine again. Install new ROM as needed. thumbup.gif

Anyone experiencing low ringtone/notification/alarm volume? Basically the speaker is very soft. Cant hear my alarm in the morning as well. Full volume maybe equivalent to only 25% of my defy's full volume. sad.gif

just get my new nexus s I9023. My 1st smart phone,
kinda impressed with the function..huhu

so, I saw at the 1st page about setting of APN, may I know what is that purpose?

anyone can suggest me good navigation system which also can provide voice direction, currently using stock gps (google)

and currently still exploring my phone + download application from market..huhu

Free GPS, you can look for waze. But since its free, there's a few drawbacks. Maps not 100% accurate and stuff since its all user uploaded. Overall a really really nice app to use in KL area. Very huge user base. iPhone+Android. icon_rolleyes.gif
