dont countermeasure your charges with that coming frmo the printing shops. printing shops' charges are really low coz they dont emphasize on designs. i've worked in that field before and the reason i quit was beacuse there were no design aesthetics being out in it. now im a graphic designer/freelancer.
the normal rate for logo design is minimum RM300 without any complementaries. that's the lowest a graphic designer should charge. if they're trying to lawball u, you can either go with it and do a senseless design or just look for other clients. decision is all up to you. but just don't drag down the market price.
