question:

just bought RB915G 2HnD

1. this router have 4 Gi , 1 Wlan and 1 Guest wlan preconfigured, I've assgined different VLAN for each int(ip -> interfaces),
2. can I use built-in DHCP server in mikrotik to assign different network segment for each VLAN tag??

for example, i want Gi2 to have 192.168.2.0/24, Wlan 192.168.50.0/24, Guest WLAN 192.168.254.0/254

if I do that...webfig said Invalid (I) and i cannot use 0.0.0.0 relay again (because default dhcp had it)

i did it somehow, but webfig said its invalid..and device connected to my wlan2 getting default pool's ip

i got it ystrday night, it seems that 'bridge' have higher priority than vlans. when i seperate wlan bridges, point dhcp srvr to those bridge...and it works!

by default..everything was on default local bridge.

btw, how to extract out the config in plain text?

Hey all, just wonder if anyone's ever had to port forward a DVR camera setup (for remote monitoring). I keep getting connection refused errors and I'm not sure where to start looking, the firewall rules, the NAT rules or something else. I've set up the dstnat rules for the ports I need (81, 8000) but it's still not giving a green light on whatever port checking tools I know.

Hi, I guess so? I'm using the rizvanvp setup for Unifi. The Unifi-Internet interface is the one facing out to the fibre terminator, should I remove the reference to ether1-gateway?

I've been messing with my firewall so most rules are off the moment. Today I realised that I have about 1000/sec inbound UDP connections from the internet to port 53 (DNS) of my router. Any ideas what that is? It chews up 8-10mbps of my ingoing/outgoing bandwidth.

DDOS? Though not very effective since router is still ok.

Anyway port 53 filters are back up.

Update: Looks like a DNS amplification attack. Just had my port 53 opened for a few hours and they found it.

Thanks edward88, tis true but I'm using my Mikrotik as DNS server so am unable to do that.

Presentation wise, so so lah. You could have gone and registered and got your free router (hAP Lite) and left. :-) Also got free T-Shirt, pen, stickers and a notepad.

Synchroweb was having a sale on some routers. eg: RB951Ui for RM290. Slightly cheaper than LYP. Landasan was there too showing off some Mikrotik stuff. 3 guys from Mikrotik, Latvia. One of them, you'd probably come across before - Normis on the forums. All very friendly though they had to endure some really odd questions from some of the attendees.

The paid lunch was good though. It was the buffet lunch at Latest Resipe, Le Meridien. RM108++. So USD30 for the lunch and the license was a good deal. The free router an added bonus.

They had the hAP AC there and the tiny mAP Lite. Not on sale yet though. The mAP Lite is crazy small. At the end they had a lucky draw for 2 units each of the hAP AC and the mAP Lite. I didn't get it though. :-( After that, they had free drinks and beer.

Quite an ok turnout too, estimate maybe 300 ppl. Though many were from the distros and quite a few ppl from .id and also students from, I forgot which uni/college.

HyppTV doesn't go through the standard internet connection, and I heard configuring HyppTV to work on MikroTik routers can be complicated (haven't tried it myself, though).

our company is currently using hAP ac lite, I had set up the VPN PPTP connection in order
to access RDP server. However, I found that the connection is not stable, the RDP session seem disconnected very few mins.

Is anyone experienced this before?
