So my morning began with some dupe calling me saying he's from Hong Leong bank.
He told me i have not settle my accumulated amount of rm 7246.00
I then told him it's impossible cause i have NEVER pay in minimum payment,ALWAYS full payment
Then he told me the credit card was applied at Johor Bharu,which then i told him its again impossible cause i'm in Klang valley
So he gave me the credit card number and detail and says that he will fax and make a report to the police station of JB,
ask me stand by on my phone , the police will call in about 5 minutes
This is the number he used to call in so called FROM Hong Leong bank 07-511282620 (why is it so long)

And then this police guy call me, Inspector Mohd Nga Bin Abdullah he call himself...This is the number he used to call me 07-5561222

So he ask ask me to go over JB to make a police report then i told him why i cant just make the report here,it will be sent to JB anyway..
After that my phone line is bad which then i cant hear him clearly and then i hung up the phone.
He called be back and ask if i main main with him...Then my temperature went up because i smell something fishy and not right
I say very loudly to him that i'm the victim now,who want to main main here..He then ask me to jaga jaga sikit when talking...wtf

He then say so if i cant go down to JB for the police report,he now want to make a recording police report...???
Is there such a thing??? Making report just by call recording? He then ask me to SPELL out loudly my full name
At this moment is ask his name again,which department and which balai he from D7 D8 or D9?

He became angry and ask if i do not believe in him...I say yes,i dont believe you...prove yourself and pass to any officer in your balai
From then he began to halo,halo,halo as if the line is bad...i have to yell at him Ko tak dengar ke?
Then i hung up...tat so call Tuan never call back

Next thing i make call to Hong Leong bank to chk on the false credit card which is under my name...After giving the customer service
the credit card number,they say its not existence...kind of relief...Then to double comfirm i gave my ic number to check
to make sure i do not have any credit card with the bank...and yep...no credit card

So guys out there,becareful...I do not what could have been if my conversation with tat police dupe goes on longer..But these guys are on the move
Hong Leong customer service told me there's actually a few fella kena this scam already and the amount is the same 7k+

I also kena the same... this time by MBF and Bank Negara claiming my CC registed in JB used in Singapore up to RM 10k. Nearly fell for it but because too bz, I never bothered to settle with them. After a few hours, I called MBF and verified the card number does not exist and the phone number is fake.

After a few weeks, read from paper 1 salesman kena RM 13k scam after same syndicate used the same tactic to scam people.

HLB lagi. Seriously, someone needs to do something to fix this shiet. Always CC details leak, bank details leak, all from HLB and their related company agents.

They won't give a damn to call u...They have better things to do..
Even when u forgot to pay for one month, they will outsource some "kejar bayaran" company to call u..

Maybe it's polis abusing his polis position to scam people. You know lah, Johor got many gangsters and scammers.

TS, you better make a report with the police (near your house) about this. Say that you suspect fraud.

Whether the police will take the action or not is another matter liao.

if true cawangan number then go report the cawangan, let them catch the screwed up police that is looking for extra income.

most probably, it's not a fault of any police officer. it can be that the scammer is spoofing caller ID.

next time if there's call like this, ask them to hold the line first while u try call your customer service officer and let them tell you the real outstanding. the bank sure can verify whether there's a call from the bank or not.

Faced the same story/situation/names as TS. 1st call received from so called Hong Leong is 07-5112826, and the inspector is using 07-5561222.

Both caller is Chinese.

Just received phone call from HL Bank too..from HLB Skudai with number 07-5112826..the person (his name Mr Kang) said i had outstanding mastercard bill about RM7k.. after verifying my full name and i/c number he give the list of transcaction..later he said police officer from JB will call me...and yes, one guy claiming he is police officer call me..with phone no:07-5561222 said he want the full story about what happened..i refuse to story bcoz i want to check the statement first (I ask the Mr Kang to fax me the bill)..

I go and check my office fax machine didn't yet received the fax..After that i google about 'credit card fraud' and thankfully found this thread..

I manage to ask the police guy his said his name is Insp Kamarul Hisyam B Ahmad, his police number is RF18520.. Bhgn Utara, Cawangan Skudai.. Funny thing is he said he is from cawangan siasatan jenayah whereas AFAIK it should be handle by cawangan jenayah komersial..and the police guy voice is similar to Mr Kang voice..

actually i tried to get further info from the police guy.. but no further idea.. i ask his handphone number he dun want to give and then angry why i asked him so much...haha..i just pretend i'm sorry..anybody want to advice how to con this person back...?

Cool one, bro. Nowadays a lot of fraudsters..no bank will cal you unless you never pay up for 2 months. They will also not make a police report too even if got court action, so do not bother, say you busy and tell them to fly kite. If a supposedly police man calls you askf ro his card number and ask him to call back in 15 mins while you confirm with Bukit Aman...see if he calls you.

This scam so common now in Malaysia. I also kena. But I totally ignore the phone calls and told them to go fly kite and play with someone else. I threatening them to make a police report and they quickly disconnect the line.

So guys.. don't simply give your credit card details to the caller, if need confirmation, please call back your credit card issuer, just ignored the caller. I also have problem like this, but i already monitor this cos i work @ one of the credit card center as fraud officer, Becareful Guys...

Last year ada orang Tm call aku.offer aku upgrade Streamyx.dia sebut alamat rumah.bla bla bla.semua correct.then dia cakap kalau nak..booking kena RM 100 dulu....so aku cakap aku bank in later.

Old news. I ken a before too but the number that called me is bukit aman number. I called back and police officer tell me that theres no such thing.

Scammer nowadays can even spoof bukit aman number to exact digit. Beware.

It can easily be done in ipong apps which whatever number u wan to use also can. They can even make it like it parent number or fren number if they know. My fren show me. He ask my parent number and by using jailbreak apps, he call me and the incoming call appeared Dad!!
