You Are the Apple of My Eye is based on a real-life romance that took place back when the novelist was still known by his real name, Giddens Ko.

Newbie actor Ko Chen Tung plays Ko-teng, a teenage boy whose life revolves around hanging out with school buddies and goofing off. But there is one thing Ko-teng does not understand about his mates: They all have a crush on Shen Chia-yi (Michelle Chen), an honor student in their class.

When the teacher asks Shen to keep an eye on the prank-loving boy, he falls for her too. The pair are drawn to each other, and yet Ko-teng, afraid of being rejected, cannot bring himself to ask Shen to be his girlfriend.

Their love continues after the two go to different colleges until one night, a big fight puts an end to their youthful romance. Several years later, Ko-teng, now a writer, and his high school mates watch Shen walking down the aisle with another man, appearing as beautiful as they remember.

Watched it just now. Really nice. :] Can see all the details and effort put in by Giddens, can really tell that how important this film is for him. Even all the humorous parts are being pulled off naturally, no overdoing. A film which is very close to everyone of us. I seriously feel satisfied and really worth the movie tix I paid for. :]

Watch ystd night but saturday i was telling my gf dont waste money on chinese movie coz all of them suxs now.

The movie really give me alot of memories of schooling days more than 1st love etc etc. How i used to goof around with my friends.

Like others said, the funny scenes came damn naturally. I love the "Boner" and "scratch groin" character. Both quite funny.

The part when boner and ko teng nothing to do in class and then did something to fill up the boredness, its epic funny.

HAHAHA same here! I was like, wtf why la wanna watch a Taiwanese movie? The idol dramas not enough meh?

Actually i only concentrate on the subtitle coz i dont understand mandarin but some scenes really i need focus on the background if not u will sure miss the LOL moment. Especially when ko teng called chia-yi thru the dorm public phone.

the friends playing sport together ,and somebody suggest the author to write a novel.

and then a extra scene showing the director playing a prank on the lead actress, by drawing her face without her knowing.

and finally a chinese sentence

his neighbor said: "No need to study English as you will not use it in the future". His response: "F*CK You"

We laugh because of his quick response.

Another best part is Ching-Teng and others notice that Shen Chia-Yi changed her hair-style. The moment is wonderful.

Not really like the movie except those quotes in the movie. I feel like there are some missing pieces in the movie. Did the Malaysian government cuts some part of the movie?

not that i dun wan to watch with my frens....some busy...some reluctant ...

go into cinema with no expectation, coming out full of satisfaction. i am the kinda person who think watching taiwan or hong kong movie in cinema is a waste of money as there are so sucks in recent years...but this 1 is full of nostalgia and funny moment.

One of the better movie from Taiwan in recent yrs. Awesome movies that brings back memories of younger days. Cheers !

Can watch it at TGV cinemas like Wangsa Walk..lesser people but cinema still quite full as I just went today.

Anyways, a good movie that brought me back to my younger years. Had a great time laughing and reminiscing the past. Didn't really think about first love though..but rather my current one coz we started when we were 16

The cinematography is quite good...simple and yet it brings the scene across strongly. Definitely worth the watch.

is a petty this movie is made this years as there's alot of good mandarin movie this years which stole the limelight of this movie.
Hence they only got one award on the golden horse.
Congrats to the lead actor.

This movie is good, quite nostalgic... But i still prefer Thailand film "Little Lover" years ago for the same genre.

Yeah. But it still did quite good for the box office some record of ticket sales for the 1st week of premier.
