It would be more helpful if you can state what problem do you face when you want to upgrade back to iOS5. Error code or something? Just saying in general that you have problem to upgrade seems like going to the Doc and say "hey I'm sick without" without telling the symptoms.

p/s - you can go up or down the firmware version provided you saved the SHSH blobs. If not then you can only go to the highest version which is signed by Apple servers.

Like something, buy it. Help the developers to develop more apps and tweaks. Not by downloading 'free' apps and discourage them. If you can afford a 2k phone then a USD0.99 apps won't hurt the wallet unless the phone also you get for 'free'. Hahahaha

p/s - my understanding on why we need to press physical button (on any phone) to activate/wake it up is to avoid any accidental presses or wake up or activation or what so ever.

This refer to SSH password. Only applies if you have SSH installed. If not then no need to worry.

Reset erase all data = format the pc but did not install windows

so your phone have no OS to boot.

Solution: Restore the phone

How to do DFU: Follow Redsn0w countdown or count yourself i.e. Turn off phone. Press the on/off button for 4 sec. While still pressing the on/off, press the home button and hold for 10 sec. After the 10sec, release the on/off button while still holding the home button until iTunes detect the phone or Redsn0w start the JB process.

You need to use ifile, WinSCP, ifunbox or any utilities to access your system files. Go to the themes folder, find your theme and look for Lockbackground.png or something like that. Copy you desired wallpaper and rename it. Respring and it should change.

I don't understand. The ability to change wallpaper for lockscreen and homescreen started on iOS4 so if you're in 4.2.1, you should be able to see 2 screen when going to the settings --> Wallpaper option. Right?

iOS never have silent icon. Usually those tweak from Cydia show this e.g. IntelliscreenX.

Do you have tinyumbrella/firmwareumbrella installed? if you do, go to Advance tab and untick "Set hosts to Cydia on exit(If you need a clean restore from Apple uncheck this box)"

Good stuff always need to pay

There's a tweak in Cydia that can display the icon but I can't remember whats the tweak name. Last time using iPhone 4 can check now using 4s cannot check.
