Anyone suffer from "a faint vertical band about 2-3" from the right side of the screen that's mostly only visible on a few of the gray slides"?

My set ST50 bought from AEON sales day has that. Will panasonic entertain this complain?

I wonder if I am the unlucky one.

I purchased ST50 from Aeon member day sales happily after reading so good review about the unit.

But unfortunately the nightmare begin....

The unit has some Dirty Screen Effect (DSE), which I discover during break in period. though quite mild but is noticeable.

Call Aeon for exchange (actually they allow to refund too). I think of asking refund too but thought my luck won't be that bad, so I take the bet.

The 2nd unit came and i notice this unit was even worse than the first unit. about 40% of the screen is full of DSE.

Beside this, the unit is so easily to get "burn mark" even though i had completed 200 hours of break-in. Just less than 10 minutes of staying in a channel, you will discover the burn mark such as "HDMI" stays. Though this can be wipe away by using the scrolling bar, but it really upset me. Don't tell me the user has to run this process every now and then...

Call the panasonic to complain...

The engineer who came said this is normal as the ST50's constrast is too high at 5,000,000:1. Oh...my God.

I can sense why the price is dropping drastically.

Thought I can get better unit for ST by topping up few hundred ringgit instead of getting UT, now I really really regret...

Just to share.

Did you check whther it's new unit or display unit?

Keep bugging Panasonic. Don't give up.

Both are new unit - from the total hours usage screen.

Thanks for the advice.

BTW, don't keep using the scrolling bar to clean your IR. it will reduce the life of your screen. This was advised by Pana guys who attended to my set.

So how is your unit now?

Don't worry about the IR thing.  I have been using panasonic plasma for a couple of years now.  No issue with IR at all.  its a temporary thing unless you really abuse it like left a static image on the screens for days.  Normal usage is no porblem at all. Just enjoy the true beauty of the plasma pictures.

I have to disagree with this.

I own the panasonic cheapest X series about 3 years, with 200 hours of break-in. Colour is still vibrant and no IR. Very happy with this entry level unit.

However, after reading good reviews about ST and its good price, i get a unit 4 months ago and put aside my X series. Even though with 200 hours of break-in, this unit is so sensitve and as expected, my TV now suffer from IR, just bcos of 2 episodes of TVB dramas. This TVB logo IR is permanent and not erasable.

I already lost hope on plasma, my next TV won't be plasma anymore.
